Assume the worst, but don't be surprised if happens (and in a manner that does not put the club at financial risk) .
I didn't notice it on here to be honest, I thought the general mood towards him was positive. I don't personally think being part of a big club should automatically make a player a good fit. I'm not saying Gomes and Kovacic aren't good though, I've already mentioned I'd happily have either here but I just don't see why they're instantly a better option than Doucoure, who on a personal scale, has had a much a better season than the pair. 37 games, 7 goals and 4 assists from a CM in an average side is good going. If you compare that to Gomes - whose total minutes equal to just 7 La Liga games with no goals or assists - and Kovacic - whose total is just 11 games and 2 assists - he's done a lot more for Watford than what they have for either Barca or Real. Personally, if Seri or Savic (who I think are big improvements on Dembele) aren't doable for the club, I'd be happy with any of the other three, I just wouldn't be more excited or underwhelmed by either player, they all look good, have their pros and cons and should in theory be a better option than the Dembele we've just seen this season.
The Bale thing stinks of a transfer rumour that will rumble on and on, getting our hopes up and smashing them from day-to-day. I hope Bale puts us out of our misery and signs a new contract soon so we can move on. I think we need 3 players this summer. Replacements for Toby and Dembele, plus a new attacker. That will set us back a lot of money, I'm sure, and I think that's more than enough upheaval. Hopefully we don't have to replace any other important players like Vorm, Wanyama or Rose. With KWP, Foyth, Winks, Onomah and Lucas hopefully set to play bigger roles this season I think we're well set and could sell Sissoko, a right back, Llorente, Janssen and Nkoudou. Even if the £150mill rumours are true, I doubt we'll be spending more than £50mill net, so I can't see how we'll be able to do anymore business, other than maybe a couple of speculative transfers on the cheap. The earlier we can get players in, the better so players not at the World Cup would be preferable as they won't be joining preseason late. That makes Martial an even more attractive signing, although sadly we may need to sell them Toby to have a realistic chance of it happening. At centre back I really think it's worth us sounding out Matip, he doesn't seem to be first choice anymore and imo he's an excellent player. No clue about centre mids as I only really watch the PL and apart from Silva and de Bruyne, there aren't really any great play makers in the league.

Even a club like us, who have always given youth a chance especially under Poch, are clearly struggling to see where they will fit in. If players like Onomah are no where near the first team, a lot of these lads don’t have a chance, sadly.
Here's a breakdown of the list Tracey: honestly the only player on the list that surprises me, as he seemed to be a useful player in the U23 side Maghoma: as I mentioned last week, he's looking to move to Twente Harrison: 13 games, 0 goals for Southend Glover: 4 games, ten conceded for Central Coast Mariners Loft: 1 game, 0 goals for Exeter Tsaroulla: appeared to vanish off the face of the earth last season O'Reilly: was a short-term pickup for the season who played just once
Daniel is probably looking at players that aren’t going to the world up, so he’s got longer to procrastinate/haggle. If we sign anyone of note before June 14th, I’ll be astounded. More contract extensions in the meantime, me thinks.
I don't know anything, as the wise and beautiful one can attest. I also can't find any recent CNN interviews with Pulisic, though I didn't try very hard, as I'm lazy as well as ignorant. I'd like to have him, as he's a top talent, but IMO it makes little sense for him or either club. We need CMs, a left back and maybe a CB, not another forward. I think it's a fabrication. But what do I know?
Youngster to Eredivisie Watch Eindhoven Dagblad are reporting that Noni Madueke is on the verge of joining PSV. Quick question: who the **** is Noni Madueke? There's no record of him on our site, Transfermarkt apparently created his profile after it was reported he was heading to PSV, and the best I can find is a tweet from Spurs Academy reporting that he scored a brace for England U15s last year.
He went a bit viral a couple years ago after scoring a Messi-esque goal for one of our youth sides. A year or so after that he was written up on by a youth scouting site that rated him very highly and labelled him a star of the future. Seems tides are turning in Europe. For years England has hoovered up young talent from European clubs and yet the past 6-12 months English sides have been losing a few prospects to sides abroad. Arsenal lost a kid to Barca, City lost Sancho to Dortmund, we lost Bennetts to Gladbach and now seemingly on the verge of losing Madueke.
There’s no doubt he has talent, but I just don’t see him being the sort of player that would work well with Poch. I could see that one ending badly, and quite quickly.
He would improve our set pieces, in particular corners by about 10 million percent. If he is prepared to work hard and get properly fit he's worth a punt at 13M
Would only be ok if we adopt some NFL rules and just bring him on for place kicks!! Maybe that's the stadium master plan
