Silly to suggest that attendances should decide promotion instead of points.

What has the size of the crowd got to do with whether they deserve to go up? Rotherham finished in a play off position and won the play offs, therefore they deserved to go up.

    Not silly at all.

I was questioning whether the Club and their fans deserved Championship football, when barely 13,000 from each could be bothered to turn up at Wembley. Shrewsbury has a huge catchment area in Shropshire ( it goes right the way to Wrexham) and the town of Rotherham has well over 100,000 people, although we know from the news that many of its people have interests in other things which the police seem unwilling to investigate.

By contrast - Coventry City - a proper football club - expect to take 40,000 to Wembley today.

Self pitying people as a whole, imbibed with a culture of victim hood. They showed their true colours at full time when Karius did indeed “walk alone”...

Just goes to show that Liverpool FC has its share of brainless cowardly morons.

Social media has given them a means to broadcast their stupid crap. But when (occasionally) the police track them down and arrest them in front of the cameras they are always sad 30-something wimps still living in a bedroom at their parents' house, who blub like the big babies they really are.

There really ought to be a Channel 5 series dedicated to sad ****ers who issue death threats online and then get arrested and shamed.

Let’s not forget Steven Gerrard would of moved to Chelsea, had his family not received death threats. And they were not the anonymous teenage kid on Twitter death threats like Karrius.

Only Trent-Alexander is from Liverpool out of the team.
You can't judge a club from a few cowardly internet morons.
How do you know that's why he did not move there?

So this forum does have a party line on Liverpool. Shame.

I hope the police don’t waste time on a few kids abusive Tweets to Karius.

Far, far more important issues for them to be devoting resources to in places like Telford and Rotherham and Oldham.

Not sure three opinions makes a party line FHB.
For the record I'm with you - I don't mind a giggle at the Scousers' expense every now and then but no more than any other footballing tribe.
They wear their hearts on their sleeves and make poor t-shirt decisions sometimes but I have nothing against them. Football makes us all do strange things sometimes.

Coventry V Exeter now on Sky, League 2 play-off Final.

I hope Coventry win - means we can have two really big combined protest days next season... fun for all the family!

Actually I admit I dislike Liverpool a lot. I grew up in South London in the seventies, and at school, while there were fans fo West Ham, Leeds, Derby and Arsenal (plus me as what felt like the lone Addick) the majority were Liverpool fans. The same glory hunting idiots the scousers will decry at Man Utd these days. I was watching the CL final saturday night and when my daughters asked me who I wanted to win, I had to admit it was more of a case of who I most wanted to lose out of those two. I did feel sorry for the keeper though. Terrible mistakes both of them, and on the worst posible stage, but what sportsman hasn't made mistakes?

So you reckon we'll be protesting the new owners by the time Coventry roll up to the Valley? (If they win today). Are you expecting SCP to be appointed manager, and Reams and Royston to mount a joint action???

I'm not entirely convinced we will have new owners - seriously.
But my remark about big joint protests days was only a bit of a jest.

If we do have new owners, then maybe CARD could come out of retirement and reform just for the day, and do an 'Old Skool ... Back to 2016' protest with retro badges and shirts, replica pink pigs and a House DJ in remembrance of KM.
Might be a bit tricky for Mr Everitt to become involved, as presumably he'll be working for the Club again by then. His megaphone might have to stay tucked away in the bottom draw of his desk inside the Valley.

On a half-serious note again though, I wonder if the hard-core protesters from Coventry might feel a bit put out if they approach Charlton fans' groups to ask for some joint action on the match-days, only to be told politely that they have our sympathy, but joining in a few chants against SISU is probably the best we can do.
If Coventry are promoted I wonder how much their fans will continue to protest anyway.

    PS:

    0-0 at half time

Looks like about 65 people inside Wembley.
Total disgrace - not worthy of a play-off final, neither team deserves to be promoted... :emoticon-0183-swear

Two goals in five minutes for Coventry - it's starting to look like the Ricoh away next season, rather than St James Park.

According to the Sky Sports stats Coventry have gone ahead 28 times during last season, and not lost one game from that position.
    Only even drew twice.

    EDIT:

Apparently Coventry have brought 40,000 fans to Wembley as well today, fair play to them.
Probably 10-15K more than we would have managed.

My earlier gag about 65 fans in the stadium was based on camera shots of the halfway line 'prawn sandwich' seats in the stadium,
which might as well not be there.

That's it - the 2017-18 season is over.

Coventry City join us in League One. Here is the full League One line-up for next season (in alphabetical order)

    Accrington Stanley
    AFC Wimbledon
    Barnsley
    Blackpool
    Bradford City
    Bristol Rovers
    Burton Albion
    Charlton Athletic
    Coventry City
    Doncaster Rovers
    Fleetwood Town
    Gillingham
    Luton Town
    Oxford United
    Peterborough United
    Plymouth Argyle
    Portsmouth
    Rochdale
    Scunthorpe United
    Shrewsbury Town
    Southend United
    Sunderland AFC
    Walsall
    Wycombe Wanderers

A total of 7 new opponents out of the 23 other teams in the league.
Personally I think that Coventry City might turn out to be promotion rivals as well.

Blackburn and Wigan are no longer our concern, but Sunderland will surely challenge with their spending power, and Barnsley & Burton will push hard to go straight back up.
Then there is still Scunthorpe, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Bradford and Peterborough all hoping for at least a top 6 place.
And Chris Powell's Southend Utd as play-off dark horses.

I don't think League One is going to be any easier to get out of in 2018-19 than it was last season.

Hats off to Coventry City and their loyal fans.

They took 37,000 to Wembley yesterday, out of an attendance of 50,000.

Unlike Rotherham, Coventry are a club that deserves promotion.

I’m particularly pleased for their fans - who have suffered with Sisu in the same way as we have with Duchatelet.

Coventry will be one of the better away days next season.
