And many of us lumped Milner and Ox into the not good enough or want it enough for another big team, shouldn't come here. I don't think Karius will be good enough... just my gut on his mentality (like a few others) but he's not terrible. And that's why Klopp will keep him. Will Klopp now think he needs better to come in to the position? Hopefully but that stands for quite a few areas and we knew it. Keep saying .... he manned up. He knows .... doesn't need destroyed for it but he more than anyone will know it makes his position less secure which is both right and a good test of What he can do development wise.
I think Hendo and Milner have contributed plenty over the season and neither were poor yesterday either. It's not just about that one game is it? Edit; but they can be improved on, just like Karius and everyone else bar Salah. I wouldn't swap Bobby, Robbo & VVD for anyone else though
Hendo (I'm not a fan) has become a disruptor and a very good one... he jyst doesn't have the likes of Alonso beside him to take the ball. Hendo can only improve in what he's ok at.... and he has. But again he's another one that knows he has to offer lots to stop us buying his replacement. .. as long as we do but them I don't care if he stays and goes up a level. And Milner? I had him in the glue factory a year ago. He got us to that final as much as anyone .... I'll not criticise him for not being as good as Real midfield.... I knew that already
That's kind of the point I was getting at ... they're players who are ok at what they do, but they're not going to push on in great leaps and strides Wasn't trying to detract from their previous efforts getting us there
I actually think Hendo is a very good captain but a somewhat limited player unfortunately. Milner is great imo, he doesn't expect to start every game but he'll give everything to the team no matter what position he's playing. He's a 7 out of ten type of player #consistent
Perhaps it should be, to an extent. I mean over the 2nd half of the season he's been better, but hardly pulling up trees, and then when the pressure moment comes he crumbles to worse than before he joined the club. Can we afford a GK, one of the most important positions on the pitch, who can not handle the pressure and makes such basics mistakes. Say we get to the final next season, would you want Karius in goal? Not saying he should be drawn and quartered, but he needs replacing.
Well, I think Klopp knows that and is slowly changing things. I don't think it's a case of giving those players two years to improve to the level required, I think Klopp knows buying 8-9 players in one window is more disruptive than constructive. Adding 2-3 is much more sensible and allows them time to get used to how we play without too much disruption to the team. I do agree we should have sorted the keeper situation out before now btw. I wasn't questioning that, just didn't agree on the loyalty to players being a Klopp downfall
I know mate...wasnt bitching at you You are right that the transfer whatever should within means always be looking to buy better for each position. Even if we were winning the league I'd expect that ... teams that rested on their laurels don't stay at the top and we aren't even there. But as I said in another thread I accept 2 things. 1) Klopp will always be a developer and that's not because of point 2... it's his way. He will always hang on to a player longer than fans think wise. I'm not a coach so can't argue. 2) as much money as we have, and it's more than most... we still can't buy 60m and throw away within a year or two...feck we hated doing it with 30m players... again I'm glad of that. Klopp will make mistakes on both fronts.... as well as he seems to separate the job from life it must burn to be known as the 6 finals no wins guy! I can't see him turning his back on the solution out of ego ... could be wrong of course many managers have let their ego be their downfall
Impossible to answer that question; Karius might grow from this, he may improve massively over the next year. I doubt it but it's not impossible. Only way that final sways Klopps mind is if he was 50:50 On the decision beforehand. However, I'd say if you're that unsure them he's not the right player. The manager should be at least 90% convinced the player is the right fit imo
For me it is essentially gross incompetence. Of which I would be let go in my work place. Yes, I feel for the guy, but I also feel for the fans that have paid thousands and the players who have had that opportunity taken away. There isn't a way back for him at the club, its a situation where we just need to go separate ways.
I thought he was superb. Said it earlier though, he's bloody frustrating because he can be that good but inevitably there is a **** up looming too
De Gea was terrible in his first session at Man Utd. Grobbalaar was awful in his first session with us two. Both were judged on more than one game but both came good. Karius won't reach their levels obviously but it was one game.
Doesn't matter. I could fu<k up majorly on one project at work and that is that. Karius has done just that, why should he be given opportunities that others wouldn't in another workplace.
Grobbalaar was terrible in many matches the whole way through lol...he got away with it because we were so good. He could be brilliant and dog ****e. Wouldn't have lasted 2 seasons now.
Yeah, because football is just like the workplace He's not good enough and needs replacing. The final didn't tell us that, we knew already!
Because their job isn't just one match? And the entire reason there's a guy paid to decide such things and not jyst a poll of fans... I'd have had him sacked on the spot last night. But then in my work there were times I fecked up big style in first years.... if the place had sacked me they would have lost tens of thousands later... of course someone else might have done the same later but who knows?
