I propose they get the most basic, cheapest food going. Think one step up from dog food.

Their 'entertainment' should be made up of education similar to that given to people out of work ie reading, writing, interview techniques, CV writing etc etc. Those not willing to participate do not get fed.

Instead of telly - give the ****s books. Instead of PS3s - give the ****s books.

    I'd ban smoking as well.

    Simple.

It isn't really simple though is it? So you treat people like animals and they will behave like animals and you spend more money on security than you would giving them decent food.

Actually yes. Im not proposing that they should be in ****holes and have no rights. Not at all. Its time as a society though that we stop cow towing to a criminal element at the yet further expense to honest tax paying people. We are talking about a ***** here. What about the kids rights.

Their freedom has been irrevocably damaged and will probably not enjoy freedom at all.

In this instance i say **** him.

Giving them food one step up from dog food and no food at all if they don't tow the line is. Why pick one part of the post out and not it all?

Prisons are not the holiday camps that the right wing press would have us believe. I didn't read the article and didn't know it was a peado. I am a hypocrite when it comes to them though, I would happily see him swing <ok>

The standard of meat in dog food is probably better than the meat in McDonalds food. Dog food is tested by humans before going to market. The food served in schools is below what i consider edible. But you are correct, all prisoners should eat Steak for every meal.

Not trying to be argumentative but there are many of us who are getting fed up with criminals rights when there appears to be an ongoing erosion of victims rights.

I might be completely wrong but bei.g easy on criminals cant work that well since a fair number reoffend.

No but even if I had what would it have to do with anything? I used to work with prisoners.

How are victims rights being eroded? Should we take away prisoners rights? Even though it would make people feel better we should not be a vengeful society.

My sister is a primary teacher in the east end of Glasgow. The stories are just grim. I'm sure that the sort of poverty my sister sees on a daily basis is not just confined to one school in Glasgow.

Absolutely. The benefit system means that no one has to go hungry or be unable to clothe themselves. What people chose to do with the money is another matter.
