Without Salah you’ve got no real outball, as Firmino doesn’t provide a focal point as he drops off, and the opposition aren’t as frightened by Mane’s pace or ability, so they can push up with more confidence, which then exposes the bang average level of your midfield. Your entire game now focuses on Salah and without him you look like you’re devoid of a plan.
We can beat a lot of teams without him but in big games he's a huge player for us. It really did kill out game plan. I'm done taking about it now, going to chill for a couple of days after all the tension yesterday.
This. Klopp's 'Pool are completely one-dimensional. That's why, next season, they will struggle. Teams won't play gung-ho against them, like City did; they will defend, frustrate, and then hit them on the break. 'Pool this season were like Leicester two seasons ago, only far less successful. Leicester have been found out; and so will 'Pool be.
Because they are so reliant on him now, sides will find a way of negating his threat next season. That’ll either be by dropping off as you suggest, or by man marking or doubling up on him. He’ll never have a season remotely like the one he’s just had again, and you can quote me on that. Klopps game plan unravelled the moment he went off yesterday, he looked as devoid of a clue as the players left on the pitch.
Swansea negated them with ease this season. They just narrowed the pitch, forcing Salah and Mane inside, and they were all getting in each others way. This was Swansea!
Yep. The idea that Klopp's one-dimensional football tactics would fool a team like Real is a joke. It's a shame that 'Pool's keep decided to go into comedy last night, since it gives Mousers a convenient scapegoat, and enables them to perpetuate the delusion that they would have won, otherwise.
Henderson, Milner, and Wijnaldum is not a CL winning midfield. Not even close. Real had far more quality Middle of the park and they mostly controlled the tempo.
You are such a twat ... nobody more "one dimensional" than Spurs in recent years ... always crumble without fail when it matters ... Pool were only in the Champions League this season because they finished in the top 4 the season before ... without ... Mo Salah
I think that it killed the game plan because there wasn't anyone even vaguely similar on the bench to replace him. Klopp tried to compensate by using Mane and sticking into Salah's role, but it required more adjustment than you really wanted to make. You're not going to have backup like Real do, but another quick, direct forward would've kept them worried about space in behind.
They had Coutinho last season, and he won them plenty of games, their game plan was largely built around him. They also had the advantage in the PL of not having European football last season, but don’t let facts get in the way
They played the best football in the league behind City by some distance ... but don't let facts get in the way ... every team is "one dimensional" in that they play a certain way on the whole .. to their strengths ...
You really need to quit the side swipes and concentrate on mid table obscurity mate...do your research on Wolves and the other promoted teams who will no doubt push your shower of **** further down the table.
What I found shocking was how visibly deflated the Poool were when Salah went off. Football is an 11 man TEAM game, not some schoolboy kickabout where the big/fast kid in your team gets injured. But as others have said, Karius has provided the convenient scapegoat to divert from this and other harsh realities.
Is anyone else not surprised salah’s Shoulder went, the poor bastard has been carrying the entire team all season. #fossejokes
They played the best football beyond City due to Salah, there were a completely different side without him. Rodgers nearly won them the league thanks to Suarez, then when he left he got the sack. We were completely reliant on Lukaku, you’re reliant on hoofball over the top to Vardy, and what? how does that somehow discredit the point about them being one dimensional?
Just as you need to accept that your own shower of **** will never win the EPL title .unlike Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester City and the Mancs ....but then football is all about dreams ... carry on ...
