What is the deal with Spurs' wage structure? Isn't it like a 75k max per player? Or a very small overall budget?

Rumours are rumours, but it's not great if either are true.

We need a wakeup? Ironic after yesterdays result surely? We beat you with 4 brand new players in your own back yard with Nasri playing.

For once it's not us with the excuses.

At the end of the day points are just points, doesn't matter if you win 8-2 or 1-0.

If Arsenal beat Swansea and Blackburn (which is plausible) and Liverpool lose to Stoke and Spurs (which is plausible) then all of a sudden Arsenal are level on points with Liverpool and we're talking about how poor Liverpools signings are and how much Arsenal have improved.

Neither Liverpool, Chelsea, United or City have been tested yet as far as I'm concerned and it is silly to rule Arsenal out (even though I think Liverpool will finish above them).

Nothing is won in August. To say Liverpool are better than Chelsea is nothing short of delusional. Liverpool are better than Spurs and probably on par with Arsenal but thats about it, they are nowhere near the level of the top 3 and if Suarez were to get injured IMO you would be no better than Arsenal at full strength <ok>

Why delusional? Surely that's a matter of opinion? As you have said, nothin is won in August.

Yeah compared to the other top 6 sides it's a tiny budget.

Makes it a lot harder to compete. We can afford transfer fees but not wages.

But unless we get a new stadium or a sugar daddy, there isn't much we can do.

Liverpool fans getting carried away 3 games in and can't keep their excitement to themselves. There's a reason you get wummed so much at the end of the season

Oh well, hope you have fun until reality kicks in.

4th place, because, realistically, that's what we Spurs, Arsenal, and Liverpool fans are talking about, if we're honest and not totally deluded, will be close. I don't fancy Arsenal's position one little bit, despite Piskie's bravado. I think they will struggle to find adequate replacements, now. January could well be too late, the way they're playing at the moment.
They should have accepted the inevitable re Fabregas and Nasri, far earlier than they did - as I'm beginning to think we should have done with Modric.

We'll see how it develops, Liverpool are currently settled - which is more than you can say for Spurs & Arsenal. That's an advantage, obviously.
However, it's a long season, injuries, and further departures, or arrivals, can change things quickly - as we saw at the end of last season.

If i'm honest I would be happy with forth. The original point I was trying to make is that there is a big opportunity for the likes of us to kick on, with our competition having real problems - they don't get rectified over night as some of you seem to suggest.

You are deluded. Reina, Suarez and Merieles are the only Liverpool players good enough to play for Chelsea.

The PL is a marathon not a sprint. We have played harder games than you and are playing poorly with probably only one or two players hitting their stride, you are in top form and playing your best football yet sit no further ahead of us.

You will most probably not win either of your next games and the real test for you will be how you bounce back from disappointment, certainly in the last decade or so, Chelsea have been much better at that which is why we have been much more successful. After the international break your fixtures look horrible up until about mid October, how you come through the likes of Stoke Away, Spurs Away, Everton Away, United etc will define what your realistic ambitions are for the season.

Your team will not be able to cope with an injury to Suarez or Reina, that is a fact.

The worse case scenario for us would be if Torres got injured during ACON. We would still be able to play any one of Anelka, Lukaku or Sturridge.

That is what you call strength in depth, something only ourselves, City and United have. Liverpool have a decent first XI, but there isn't much more to them.

Don't worry Harry will buy 19 or 20 players and change it all around and then bankrupt you in a few years.

    My thoughts on this are;

    1. until august 21 comes and goes I am not sure where the clubs are.

    2. seeing the absolutely stupidity of arsenal wums for 2 years on the old 606 i have absolutely no sympathy for their plight. jog on arsenal.

    3. tottenham don't look to hot right now, so much depends on the next few days for them.

    4. I predicted 5th for liverpool a month ago and now the anrseal situation is crystallising fast, if they don' buy in the next few days I think 4th is really on now.

    5. any fool likethis wengerwater guy above my post who doesn't see the absolute impact of suarez, the soldification of our back 4 with agger and enrique and how good adam and lucas are as the centre of midifeld in fornt of the back 4 has a serious bias. We need a lot of work to bed in the rest of it and still have gaps but if you can't see liveprool are going to be hard to beat and with suarez always have a chance... well... 70 points shouldn't be out of liverpools reach and 70 = 4th.

I've heard Chelsea's new shirt next season is all red, with a black collar...That according to a club spokesmen is what Chelsea pensioner's have to wear to get into the ground<ok>

Arsenal..what a joke, when are the fans going to realise Wegner is the problem.

Spurs, Harry the deal. Center half's weak, forwards about as potent as a blank shot.

Chelsea, flatter to decieve. Aging squad, average back up to the main player's. And thanks for the £50 million for the sulky Spainard.

City/United to win it, us 3rd

Crikey where to start? (We will never agree).

You have played West Brom, Norwich and Stoke? How are they harder games than Arsenal away, Sunderland and Bolton at home?

How are we in top form? We have FOUR new players in our first team, how can you possibly say they have all fitted in immediately and this is the best they can play? That my friend, is delusional. You forget about a certain Steven Gerrard coming back as well.

Interesting Meireles now fits in your squad? Changed your tune you Chelsea fans. Reina, Gerrard, Merieles and Suarez would fit bang in your squad.

I'd have Terry, Cole and Matta from yours. Lampard, Drogba, Anelka and Boswinga are how old now? I wouldn't have Torres back either.

If i'm honest I think you guys should finish ahead of us, but there is no guarantee of that.

Your bouncebackability is why you have won more in recent years is it? Nothing to do with money then?

Since City started spending you seem to forget you were the ones who instigated the saga, and were nothing more than a decent team from London before then.

Yes its early in the season but I have to say I'd be amazed if Arsenal or Spurs finished above Liverpool, I really think they are both in for a long hard season. I would be equally amazed if Liverpool finish above Man utd or Man city but not surprised at all if we finish above chelsea
