Otter He certainly did very well yesterday He is still learning but I think without checking. We have the best defensive record right now. That is thanks to Begovic. I do think Joe Hart is better though, made some great saves v Spurs.
He's certainly up there. Carson aside, he does have a good eye for keepers. De Goey, Simmo, Sorensen, Asmir and let's not forget the loan signing of Mark Crossley during the latter part of the 02/03 season which kept us up that year, and we arguably wouldn't be where we are now without.
I think he is an awesome and natural shot stopper with lightening reactions! I think Hart and probably Chec are better but he really only has 1 full season behind him! Along with Shawx, Huth and Ethrington - probably our best signing! With any team you need to build a strong spine that you can then build around! Having Begovic is an excellent starting point and Huth and Shawx as the central partnership (Not Huth at RB or LB) is the foundations that the team need to be built on! Obvioulsy the CM are the next part of the jigsaw (and probably will be in a further 8 transfer windows) and then we have KenWine leading the line!
Oh, forgot to mention! With Begovic, Huth & Shawx so integral and important for our team it wont be long before we will have to break our wage structure just to keep them!
True Smithers, I was thinking about that myself, when reading earlier posts on this thread. If Begovic continues to perform as well as he is currently it won't be long before the 'top' teams will be sniffing around for him. Chelsea were showing an interest last season. They currently have Cech (sp) fortunately but their back-up, Hilario(us)! is nowhere near good enough having seen him vs Norwich
But when we bring in the class that we are about to do, then will become a top team & be able to tell the others to politely go away

You think so Huth? When a top London or Manchester club tap them up and offer them 100K a week Stoke will be FOOOOKED! TcP and Coates can stand firm all they like, but if 1 of our top players wants to move there us fuk all the club or manager can do about it! We will never be a club that can afford to let a 10/15/20 million squid player rot on the bench to make a point!
