Guess it depends if his final ball into the box has improved. I liked his effort but his final delivery either didnt happen or was poor.

Must admit I would see it as a backward step.

I'm in Morocco. I have today been schooled as to the pronunciation of his name. Hard working player who if he's improved his end product would be welcomed back, I'm sure.

I think he could teach Silva a thing or two about tactful and respectful replies to questions.

Watford in the hunt for Roma forward Gregoire Defrel, reports claim

Watford are reportedly leading the race to sign €15 million rated forward Gregoire Defrel.

The 26-year-old joined Roma on loan from Sassuolo last summer but has failed to make an impression for this season’s beaten Champions League semi-finalists.

Edin Dzeko’s form – the Bosnian netted 26 goals in all competitions as Roma finished third in Serie A – saw Defrel used sparingly.

The Frenchman’s 20 appearances for the Stadio Olimpico side have yielded just one goal, making it hard to propose an argument to suggest he would alleviate Watford’s own woes in front of goal.

    But can he score???????

All l’m hearing is Everton and Spurs fans moaning about not wanting Doucoure and Richarlison as if they’ve got some given right to sign them anyway. Maybe they don’t want to move to your clubs? ‘Not good enough’, ‘should be aiming higher’ etc etc.

We need a summer signings thread, I'll put one up for done deals.

That lad just in is one for the future and hopefully not just fresh defensive meat for the treatment table. Hopefully, he can gain experience training with the (fit) defenders we have when around the 1st team squad and kick on from there.

On another note, if Amrabat is coming back then it just shows lack of options in the transfer market. It'd be like getting back with an ex knowing it's not really going to work out, you know all her faults but what the hell nothing else about type of thing. Same with Success and all. They can both find new clubs or get loaned back out somewhere forever lost in the Pozzo network of sometimes sublime and mostly dross.

Guess this summer is going to be tough transfer wise. Everyone wants quality reinforcements and has $$ to spend. We don't pay that well compared to other clubs and are not that glam either.

See what the Pozzo trawler net can cough up.

This was on the Football365 website going through each club and what they need. Quite a lot of tosh in here. They think we don’t need any signings?!?!

    What do they need?
Nothing. Just nothing is fine. Watford have some excellent players, but the whole club has an air of intransigence that makes sustainable progress ever so difficult. Since retaking their place in the Premier League in June 2015, Watford have signed 51 players on permanent (39) or loan (12) deals. That is partly inspired by a regularly changing cast of managers, each with their own transfer targets, but also because Watford seem to stand for very little. It’s bloody hard to foster a team morale when nothing ever stays the same. Keep hold of Richarlison (and give the lad a long rest) and Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Watford should be happy. They currently have 36 first-team players, including the likes of Mauro Zarate – who must feel like they fell down a rabbit hole in Hertfordshire and are now stuck in a reality loop.

A1horn they sum up just what I feel about the club :emoticon-0101-sadsm And I remember others expressing similar views on here back in Feb/March.

But we will need signings as players will not want to stay. And the signing above I guess confirms your 'tosh' comment ;)

Is there any news on any players going?

I think several Prem clubs who just about survived this year will be snooping, plus the clubs coming up. Or will they wait to see what talent the world cup produces?
