yeah TBH It is a bit hollow for suarez sat there with 3 league titles, 4 spanish cups, a CL, super cup, and of course world club cup and to be green with envy over LFC reaching a final

Same for coutinho TBH with a league and cup medal in his back pocket plus a CL medal coming anyway

It's just the type of thing you say towards ardent fans.

given square is on 250k and so is coutinho they got a 70k pay rise and all the medals so.... yeah... bit silly but you can't really say players leaving are better off as an owner can you.

The best line to fob of the hacks is to say I'm sure those players wish us the vest best on saturday.

Sorry I'm late back to this I was in the north east all afternoon and evening. We all know astro makes outrageous claims, doesn't really matter whether it's wumming or not. Not many people are brave enough to make such statements let alone bet on them. PJS follows astro around waiting to jump on one of those claims he feels confident in betting on. What we don't know is whether or not PJS actually agrees with the claim of say 'Everton will be relegated' [can't remember what the last bet was]. He may well agree with it but is confident enough to place the bet. That's sort of my point here. Let PJS make the outrageous claim for a change - be proactive instead of reactive.

But it's all done and dusted now, PJS hasn't got the bottle for risky betting - never mind.

Don’t go about making wild claims. You want me too, I know you do. I have offered that the new guy will get more points than sam did in the same fixtures. Easy, was rejected.

The new guy having his own players, a preseason, no European football to distract him, and not taking over in December which is the busiest period of all. And then maybe he'll get 1 point more but come bottom half.

The Everton board is a tuppenny- ha'penny place. Half an acre of sodden marshland in the Suffolk Fens with an empty town hall on it. Population: three rather mangy cows, a dachshund named Colin, and a small hen in its late forties.

I doubt Suarez is kicking himself. Coutinho might be a bit miffed because it's come at the back end of the season where he was at both clubs, but I'm sure he'll get over it - especially if he gets his medal.
I do however, take JH's point about it being a weaker league overall. If I'd not been worse than useless as a player I'd have wanted to play consistently at the highest level I could, week in week out.

It is a fair point but technically the players might disagree with JH.

There is a vast gulf in resources true. however there is a point to be made on how flogged player are in england. Its helter skelter football and you are all out by end.

Now theres as many games in spain but you are looked after more by not having 6 teams for 4 spots and not playing up and after it football every game even v team in 20th.

Suarez and coutinho may just not think there is much difference between west brom or alacante and perfer not to get kicked left and right cos of the style.. not is it as watchable cos they actually flop around as well... thats a different question

The irony in all of this is that your chosen charity is linked to something incredibly brave you did in your life. I wanted to see you be brave [in a different way] by making a bold prediction. I get it now, you won't be persuaded and I'm sort of not really surprised, least of all because there aren't too many bold predictions you could make about your team - more points is a very weak offer tbh. <laugh>

The South American/Latino fascination with Real and Barca will win every time when it comes to a player from there getting a chance to play for one of them.
Look at Ronaldo, said from minute one at OT that his ambition was to play for Real despite Man U being the top dogs in England.

**** them anyway, they wanted out and they went.

"It's hard to understand why players would want to go to a league where the competition is so weak. They must play 30 or so meaningless matches per year waiting for Champions League matches.

"They'll be watching this weekend and could have been playing."

Well, possibly not. Rodgers inherited Suarez hitting his peak and blew the league. We had Coutinho and lost the Europa final. We might not even have made the CL final had he stayed. It's simple chaos theory.

So good riddance to bad rubbish. Goddamn jinxes.

We've got a major airport 30 miles up the road and a regional airport on our doorstep yet there's been major problems with hired/private planes finding a landing slot at Kiev airport.
No such problems for Real Madrid fans, can't find anything suggesting they've had any hassle, if there were direct flights to Kiev from Madrid despite it being the venue for the final I'm sure some of our supporters would have flown Manchester/Madrid and then on to Kiev.
Seems all of their fan chartered flights were allocated a landing slot, should have been more even handed or even allow landings at airports as close as possible to the capital and shuttle buses laid on.

It all comes back to Uefa giving the final to a place that's difficult to reach, unless you're from ****ing Poland, Russia or Romania.

Think RM returned at least 2000 tickets as fans wouldn't buy them due to problems with transport arrangements so it seems like a **** up all the way round.
