    Morning Reds

Looking at the way the openings games of the season have gone, I believe we have been given/have earnt a real chance of stamping down our authority on this league.

We currently lie third, two points off the Manchester teams. Whereas I doubt we could overhall them, I do believe we can keep them in check and fight Chelsea for third.

We must take advantage of of the fact Spurs have started so poorly and are suffering from internal problems, as have Arsenal. The more we can distance ourselves from them the more we can focus on those above us, rather than the chasing pack.

I think we are as good as, if not better than Chelsea, and if we can focus one game at a time we could have a realy good season.

It's realy open at moment, and a stable team under Kenny could realy take advantage!

    Come on you Reds!!

P.S how do you London clubs see it?

I see three games played into the season.
A couple of seasons ago Hull City were in the top 4.....

Despite it only being a few games in, I believe it has shown where the clubs are currently at.

Do you see this as just a blip then? I don't, I think you badly need to invest in order to stay top 4. I don't think you could sustain in currently, 3 games in or 20.

Just a little premature, methinks. You luckily beat a very poor Arsenal side who, have just had their arses handed to them by Utd. Apart from that, you haven't played anybody of note, yet. A blatantly unsettled Spurs side (thank you, once again Ratboy!) have been beaten by the probable top two of the premiership this season.
Once you have played, with your best side out, against a proper yardstick, then you'll get an idea of where you stand.

Yeah, I just think it's too early mate.
Liverpool look better than they have done for a fair few seasons, but to be honest, you couldn't have got much worse.
Arsenal have got problems, but I expect us to sort those out.
I think 4th will be between Arsenal and Liverpool.

Not enough games played to be so bold and things will be more settled come Christmas. So far it's a matter of who had the better pre-season, United sorted there new additions out early which is probably why they look the most settled, with City close behind. We (Chelsea) are nowhere near up to speed yet and don't see that coming for 3-4 weeks yet.

    Agreed <ok>

Christmas is a better barometer of where clubs standing is at.
    It's too early to judge.
Alan Hansen predicted Liverpool for champions at the beginning of last season.

Yes, 3 games in is a great yardstick. I really don't see any point in bothering with the other 35 games

I think that the performances have been encouraging. Anything can happen at this early stage. We just need to keep believing.

It is early days I know that. The point I am trying to make is I think there is a big opportunity there if we want to take it.

Spurs and Arsenal have dropped points and look like dropping more. Chelsea look fairly average against standard competition.

I just feel it's very open.

Liverpool have started well and it's good to see them challenging again.
I don't think Arsenal's early season crisis won't go unaddressed.
Chelsea will up there battling with Utd and City.
Out of them all Spurs look like the ones who might get hit hardest, especially if Modric goes.

Are you aware of our pre-season?!! What people have failed to mention with us is that we are playing with 4 brand new players- five if you count for Suarez. They also need time to bed in. Then of course at some point Gerrard will come back.

Personally I think the top 4 positions now will be more or less the same at the end of the season. It is only 3 games in, but the flaws are there for everyone to see with regards to Arsenal and Spurs. They haven't strengthened, best players left or wanting to leave, it reminds me an awful lot of our own season 2 years ago. Alonso left, an integral part of the midfield and suddenly we're doing crap; Fabregas and Nasri have left, who pretty much made up the midfield of Arsenal, Modric is threatening to leave which would be a massive loss for Spurs.

Towards the end of the season the chase for top 4 will become much closer, and no doubt at points you'll be breathing down our necks but I can't see a massive change in fortunes unless something drastic happens.

That is true. If he goes, then Bale probably will too. Where would that leave VDV? Redknapp seemed very annoyed with the current situation.

I think both you and Spurs will recover, but both need investment urgently.

I think Arsenal or more likely to recover than Spurs. Spurs have had 1 season in the champions league, given their players a taste of it and it doesn't look like they'll ever get there again, especially not on their wage structure. Arsenal at least have the infrastructure and experience in the top 4 to know what they need to get back there.

Liverfool fans, ou need a wake up call.
Youre nowhere near as good as manUSA or manarab or chavski.
Right now, with all of arsenals problems, you only managed to beat them after they had their most important player(in terms of positioning) sent off with an arsenal failure defensively and an offside goal.
You couldnt beat an average sunderland team, and you beat a woeful bolton team.
Just wait till your trip to the lane in 3 weeks then well see whos better
PS. I see spurs just beating liverfool to 4th and arsenal finishing mid table
