Today's main contender is Porto left back Alex Telles, who certainly sounds like the exact player we need at left back due to a combination of pace we missed down that flank due to Rose's injuries/obesity coupled with some remarkably accurate crossing that saw him notch 20 assists in 45 games last season. Of course it;s worth pointing out that the vast majority of those assists were against Primeira Liga opposition, and not even the good Primeira Liga opposition, while the other two were in the Champions League against Besiktas and Taurine FC Leipzig, but more that anything else there's two potential things to worry about: Porto maybe not being happy with us playing silly buggers with Pereira last summer, and the fact Telles' agent happens to be his parents - and we've seen enough ****ery with our attempts to sign Adrien Rabiot to make that a terrifying proposition.

There's also an odd rumour linking us to Espanyol's 28-year old centre back David Lopez, even though the only possible way this makes sense is if someone saying "Oh wait, Poch used to manage Espanyol, didn't he?"
