Only messing about, but I agree though. I hear loads talk about what has happened between us and the BN/ Mancs as it used to be competitive, get heated, but never anything violent. Is it that bad over there between the sides?
Only with the idiots. However the rivalry appears to be taking a harder route these days. The same is happening with Everton - and that was known throughout the UK as being the 'Friendly Derby'.
page moss, what you need to do on that one is spend the next spare ahlf hour you have trashing said pub and town on every tourist website there is for ireland. quite simple.
You get 1 person to start something and the rest just follow like little sheep F.....G idiots Like said above even after they win the mindless idiots still want to fight and brawl We have come a far way from what it used to be don't let it go back to that
Page. Some people can dish it, but can't take it. I personally haven't got anything against rival fans, but every so often you do get sore losers. I nearly walked myself into it the night of this years CL final. I nearly ended up with a fat lip. Sore losing and alcohol doesn't mix.
I was'nt having a go at Ireland or Irish supporters(i've got a few Irish LFC supporting mates who are A1),i was just pointing out just how far spread the bitterness and in some cases hate is Elpisto.
I might just do that mito, but then again why should a few arseholes bring bad publicity on an otherwise nice boozer. Fans of both clubs probably have had similar or worse experiences(RHC comes to mind)but it'll just carry on happening because of the lurrrve between us and them.
Page Moss. I was generalising on sore-losing. We're all guilty of it. As I said sore losing and alcohol don't mix. Sometimes with what may normally be considered a light-hearted joke could end up causing a massive row.
i'd presume if yuo felt safe enough to walk into that pub there with your suit case etc it must have been a decent size/ state of repair so i am assuming they want business so can't be a utd only sports pub in wexford. straight on trip advisor or pub rating websites and give the mwhat for.... their manager/ barman should have shut up his regular...
****ing hell talk about tarring all united fans with the same brush ? I supposed Liverpool don't have any dickhead fans do they ? I also suppose Liverpool never picked up any 'glory hunters' when they were successful neither did they ? Funny how all these things only happen to us 'scum'
King Eric. You are actually right, all clubs have fans that have jump on board supporters and its not just Manchester United. There is people out there that change the team they support every year. There is people out there that have been Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United fans in the last 10 years depending on who won the league. Success and failure go hand in hand, you should be prepared at all times to accept both thats the definition of loyalty.
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/81238-Failure-Hunter. Anyone explain this? Seems appropriate seeing as glory hunting has been mentioned.
The scariest moment in my life was actually on a similar vein. I was nine and it was the day of the 1992 FA Cup final. I used to play chess back then and me and a few mates from my chess club (don't laugh) were being driven down the M6 by one of their dad's to a tournament in Wolverhampton with loads of Liverpool fans on their way south for the final. They all had their scarves out the window, and we were having a bit of banter, shouting "Utd" out the window and one of my mate's had a Utd shirt on and was showing it too all the cars. We had some horns going off, a few blokes flashing the Vs, all good fun. And then we show it to one car with a bunch of lads in and they went mental! Actually cut across two lanes of traffic, sat right on our bumper flashing the lights, hooting and swearing and then shot round us, cut us up and sped off down the motorway. ****ers almost ran us off the road - we were **** scared. It really beggars belief that any human being, no matter what club they support or what the history, would do that to a bunch of kids having a bit of a laugh!
Get the same stuff even in America. Live in San Antonio, support a different basketball team (only really watch re playoffs, would rather watch football like the premier league,) and when my team won in the playoffs this year, I was talking to my friend about it. I jokingly taunted him about my team winning (the local team won 7 or so times, first time ever for my team) and a customer told me if he saw me with no one around, I may end up in a hospital. He was dead serious, too. On a side note, some man u supporters and I have friendly banter and it is all good. It isn't about the team you support that makes people do stupid things, its the people themselves. Don't think all fans of one team are like that, it's the rare exception that makes every fan look bad.
