Some parts of the county are known, for being a bit festive, it's true. But here, in this leafy glade, you can watch Priory Park, of Chichester, play cricket for free! please log in to view this image
That's about the size of it. It's such a lovely park, if you are ever in Chi, go up North Street from the Cross, turn right into Guildhall Street and the entrance to Priory Park is at the end.
Is that where Hampshire colts would have played during the late 50's because if it is I played there for them!!
Wouldn't they be the Sussex colts, if they played there? Here are some images/info to help your memory. http://www.chichesterprioryparkcc.co.uk/
Pompey folk think I'm talking posh, when I say it (Chy), affected accents abound, "oh one comes from Chiii, does one? but to pronounce it, Chih?, as though you were going to say the name completely, would be just silly.
I think it was against the Sussex colts we played..........Too long ago for the memory to be clear but I could have played club Cricket there also......just know that I seem to remember a few games there is all.
