A new bellend on Wally Life called FORD has said the takeover will be announced at 1pm today. #WhereDoWeGetThemFrom
But rumour has it his Due Diligence wasn't that thorough, if it had been there be some kind of property development at The Valley by now...When this was brought up at a fans meeting Miere never got close to denying it, she just said they weren't building, and avoided the question of intention. Sadly I share your pessimism...Too many things just don't add up.
We've had months of false dawns, and all these people ITK have been wrong, but somebody will guess right eventually.
North London Addick's posts seem pretty sound. He cuts to the chaste and is convinced the Australians do not have the wedge.
I agree, if they had they would've waltzed in January and done the necessary work in that transfer window, but all we got to see was our best player sold again.
If Andrew Muir doesn’t have a lot of spare cash to spend on Charlton once he takes over, it makes communication with ALL fans all the more important. I think the vast majority of fans would be so relieved that the Belgian virus had gone that they would be willing to support a patient approach. Personally I would have no problem if the Aussies appointed Bowyer and said they were going to give him time whilst not selling his best players from under him.
Not sure where the 't' came in. Apart from my dear wife, I do not come across many ladies..............
Roland is like chicken pox, a painful virus which never leaves the body, and reappears as shingles, a horrible, painful complaint.
The elation of removing RD would soon dissipate. Patience will only go so far, fans have already had enough with the lack of quality investment. They'll only return in numbers when real ambition is evident...
As long as the new people make all the right noises and APPEAR to be moving in the right direction then we will see an upturn in atmosphere and attendance figures. To quote the leg endary figure of SeriouslyRidiculous "Let's see where we are after six months".
Taking time to build the foundations up is fine, as long as it’s not done by constant asset stripping. Let’s see if Konsa & Fosu stay.
That's a very important part of it...Building a squad around good players is far more successful than having to rebuild a new one every season.
We've had over 4 years of destruction, 6 months without a CEO or Head of Finance. The scouting system appears not to be fit for purpose. I can't see any way there will be shedloads of cash available any time soon. There is too much to be done, and if Bowyer does get the job he will need someone experienced beside him. It's not just his inexperience, it's the fact that he's been out of football, and I believe out of the country even, so will need help with recruitment, which is key.
Totally agree, but as with all Clubs who aspire to succeed certain things have to be in place, and it starts with keeping your best players and building around them with quality signings. Gliksten, Murray & Duchatelt showed us what happens when you try a different approach.
Bowyer won't get the gig. Any new board know who they won't before they take over, and I am certain with all the money being spent they are going to trust somebody who has no experience.
Rebuilding every season is not exclusive to Charlton, it is virtually wholesale throughout football in this country that 7 or 8 players leave and then are replaced. Football is not enjoyable in the sense that you are unable to connect with players as they come and go quicker than Mr van Gerwen shuffling to Nero to get his coffee and card stamped in the morning.
So if they don't have much to invest it begs the question what are their motives for wanting the Club..? A 'five year plan' to get to PL doesn't come cheap.
I don’t think any reasonable fan expects da Silva to come back from Chelsea, and Amos would also be a real coup given his reported wages. Bowyer clearly understands what is required in terms of building a sustainable squad. I’m all in favour of selling assets this summer to finance new player acquisitions- if the assets sold are Reeves, Magennis and Ajose.
We’ve had 3 turd-like owners in a row now, if you include (which you must) Murray post 2006. 4th time lucky ?
