To be fair, most fans haven't seen him play but still think he's good enough to be one of our top 2 strikers next season despite being consistently loaned out to lower league clubs.
I'll be royally ****ed off if we lose Arma. Hasn't had a chance in the team since his goal-scoring heroics at two teams. At the worst I was expecting another Bolton-esque loan. Look past Vardy and Kane to see other high scoring English players and tell me Arma couldn't eventually do a decent job in this league.
Having, admittedly, only seen his goals, he at least has another season of a loan or fringes football in him. Last player I seen knocking goals in for fun from the academy was Carroll. Worth a punt! Certainly NOT one of our top 2 though. Imagine the clamour for Rafa to leave on this board if that happened.
Hate to have a boner for Arma, but honestly what I like about him is he looks a poor man's Perez (pre-Benitez) with a little more about his shooting, it doesn't require an out of this world finish. There's some potential.
I can see Blackburn being interested in a permanent deal as Arma has a good rapport with Tony Mowbray.
So called up for the U21s and played a blinder - so people want rid of him Doesn't need to go out on loan again - not saying he should be starting but he should be a 1st team squad player.
Yep. Wouldn't want to have to rely on him but he should be around the squad now. Give him a chance, an actual decent chance too not just 2 minutes when we are 3-0 down
If anyone thinks he should be one of top 2 strikers I worry for them. He is easily good enough to be back up and compete with Perez for his slot though in my opinion.
Hard to judge if he's up to being part of our squad next season since England U21s is well below top 10 Premier League level. As is League 1, obviously. I think it's either time to sell him because we are confident he won't make the grade, or he stays and is used in the squad probably getting some cup and sub appearances and see if he can push on. I don't see the point of sending him away on loan again - he needs to be coming good now. Even if it's giving him until January to impress the manager and then he gets sold if no good. Personally, I think he's not going to make the grade and Rafa already knows this.
I don't see a problem with another loan personally, he's only turned 21 in February. I think its a little early to discard him regardless. All the lad can do is perform when given the chance. He's done that at all levels asked so far. A lot of his league football has been out of position too. I'd prefer to see him made part of the squad and I think he will make up into a decent operator. Either that or maybe a loan abroad may help him. Whatever is going to boost his confidence. However if Rafa isn't seeing it there is little point in retaining him. It doesn't mean Rafa's right about him, it just means he will never make the grade under Rafa regardless so its best for all concerned to move on.
