24/05/18 15:00 UPDATE – IMPORTANT UPDATE 24/05/2018 – CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL 26THMAY 2018 Dear customers, With deep regret, we have had to cancel three flights to Kiev Due to so many flights going into Kiev, Kiev Borispyl has unable to allocate times for aircraft. We have worked extremely hard over the last 48 hours trying to resolve these issues. We have had Liverpool football club, Police, UEFA and everyone at the highest levels of authority trying to resolve this. We have exhausted all avenues to try and get landing slots. We have had them from Liverpool airport and Manchester airport and we have applied for slots in the correct manner and time frame with the authorities. To reiterate this problem IS with Kiev. Flight numbers affected and cancelled: 25thMay ET8700 27thMay ET8701 26THMay ET8704 27THMay ET8705 26th May ET8706 27ThMay ET8707 ALL OTHER FLIGHTS ARE UNAFFECTED. You will have received etickets via email in the last week or so. At this stage we can only make a huge apology and are very sorry let you down on this occasion. We will be processing full refunds of monies paid as soon as possible, starting tomorrow. If you have booked online, this will be refunded to the same payment method. If you have paid by cash, we will issue a cheque.
I don't know how flight spots are allocated but to sell tickets not knowing if you can actually land the plane is just ****ed.
Loads panicking..begging on Twitter for anyway of getting. Up to 1000 effected possibly. Joe Anderson tweeted he's discussing a solution as he types. This on top of the 1000 Madrid tickets returned and won't be reallocated to Reds due to security. .... if FIFA weren't worse you'd almost love that World Club Comp reboot to royally **** over UEFA.
Which airline is it that's cancelled them, or is it a few ?? Could be airlines cashing in with eyes bigger than their bellies selling too many tickets and putting on planes they can't cope with However, UEFA should also check whether the places they award the final are actually able to cope with it logistically, you'd think that would be sensible Probably is some of both
Seems an absolute farce all round. The team is flying straight back after the game Saturday because they cant find a hotel big enough to put up all the players and there families.
Seems to me every year something like this happens with UEFA finals. Us lot should be grateful that UEFA bring these games to the masses by bringing such stars to the ukraine which has suffered so much and then they sell all the tickets to corporate so no locals go anyway.
Had a quick look at Travelsupermarket and only 3 flights still available from Manchester but a bunch still available from Heathrow and Gatwick. Hopefully those cancelled can still find a way there and what are the chances? They got to Instabul by hook, crook or bullock.
Spoiler: my last man the guy i missed was none other than the ginger wonder jon arne riise. Forgot that guy spanned many a manager and yes garcia was on eof the few i got first . He got some important goals, the ghost goal and was it him that did the wonder strike against juve
Picking Kiev for the final was ****ing ridiculous, Uefa should check out the logistics of the final venue, they're a shower of greedy bastards that never learn. Feel for the reds fans who are now stranded, haven't heard of Real fans having similar problems.
Looks like Mayor Joe has got the flights issue sorted, he's been on the blower to ex-boxer Klitschko(Kiev Mayor)and come to some sort of agreement. Stranded Liverpool fans 'to be saved' - thanks to mayors Joe Anderson and Vitali Klitschko https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/stranded-liverpool-fans-to-saved-14702608
