Well I’m on the bloody plane and no announcement. I hope to hear something in 10 hours and a few gins later [emoji16]
When you originally said that it won't be announced until Thursday when you get on your flight I thought theres no way it will take that long...now it seems optimistic!
I saw Mark Hughes on holiday once. Bumped into him (literally) crossing the road in Cyprus. That's all really.......
The delay is caused because they can't find the dice. Les reckons there must be some in the old box of Ludo in his mum's caravan at Swanage, but he can't find the box.
Sorry guys......have had another snippet of info..........The word is that sparky had asked for time to think about the offer he has been made. (If any one else has posted this then I apologise) Saints have given him until Saturday to accept or decline. I got this info just as I was boarding the plane yesterday. I cannot confirm what I have heard either........... for obvious reasons. I don’t like posting things like this before getting conformation but have done so as it kind of makes sense to me.
Sounds reasonable, Beddy. We can't leave it much longer...post-holiday sounds long enough....otherwise we might as well look elsewhere. We are obviously not a stinking rich club with a huge pot to spend....perhaps he doesn't want to commit now, but hopes for a better offer. Or he fears we will be in the same boat next season without a large investment. However, we are also not a penny ante club, so we don't want to be messed about. Seems more likely that he is dithering than us (although we do have that down to a fine art ) as there are no rumours about us looking elsewhere.
Blimey, there are more people ITK on here than the Daily Mail! So in short, Mark wants to sign, he doesn't want to sign, he wants more money, he's on holiday, the board is on holiday, Mark's cat is settled in Stoke, we're waiting for the Fulham result, we have contacted Fulham, we haven't contacted Fulham, we won't contact Fulham or we might too late, Jokanovic's ex-wife had an affair with Dusan's dad, Jokanovic's cocker spaniel is settled in Fulham, Harry Kane married Meghan or at least scored first and Brexit may not be the success everyone thought it would be.
Well whatever's going on, whilst its going on, I'll definitely be waiting to decide when and if it happens, weather to spend over £1200 on new season tickets.
After the Puel season JS, I really did consider not renewing, but I trusted the club in getting the right manager and bring some form of entertainment back to St Marys, however after last season, as I sit here now, I won't be renewing. IMHO, the club had a great if not lucky opportunity to be decisive now and jump on the good feeling generated by Hughes and the teams performances in the last couple of weeks of the season, but they haven't . As always with this great club of mine as of recent years, there is always a circus surrounding the club, which if we're all honest, is mostly bought on by themselves? I will sit tight, wait and see what happens. I guess player trading is probably more important to me, as if a few rumours are to be believed and the VVD money that should be remaining goes missing, then again RK has blatantly come out and bullshitted again to us, the fans. Still no one has come out from the club in reality and admitted accountability for the last couple of seasons, in managerial decisions, player transfers, very poor transfer windows etc, and what Gao's true intentions / ambitions are for Southampton FC, not for his business growth in China. I'm not after or expecting Champions League ambitions as previously touted by the club, but just a bit more than survival ambition, which is what it will be as every other SMALL club, catches and overtakes little old Southampton.
its not worth the money - I can tell you that now. it never will be. why would you spend £1200 + plus all the extras to get to the game / match day spend - Its more like £3,000 mate Why would you spend that to watch the saints mate? Top half the prem is the best you can hope for Q: Why not go for a week in barbados A: I'll tell you why - because its NOT the saints and thats the problem. You're hooked just like the rest of us
