I know FLMC, just being a little pedantic this morning.

 

Ignoring the roughly £150m from the reamining VVD money and what the club gets from tv money/PL finishing position you're probably right, we will need to sell before we can buy.

 

And all the money we have made in the last few years from player sales and TV money. Although Kat may have pocketed that on her way out

 

We must be the richest poor club in all the lands

 

I prefer to think of us as the poorest rich club.

 

Hopefully Gao can raid the cracks in his sofa for some extra transfer cash...

 

It wasn't long ago that we posted a £46m profit for I think 2016/17, wonder where that went?

 

Only Everton and the top 7 have spent more than is on players after all. So it is true we are the richest of the poor.

 

He did that, and soon after he was living on said sofa.

 

Shame that our spending on coaching staff was not proportionate last Summer....

 

Yeah but they have been spending to add to and improve their already pretty good squads. Where as we generally have been buying to replace key players.

 

The club was paying back the personal loan from Kat that paid for Staplewood until the end of the 2016/17 season I believe.

 

That is very true.

 

Its more that most of them have been promoted after us so have been adding to a championship squad. That's reversed this season though and we really need to buy to improve a mediocre squad.

But yeah, I only said that as our wealth projection seems a more provable measuring stick than guessing how much is in our bank account to say how rich a club is.

edit: infact, this year, we are the longest surviving club in the PL outside the top 8. everyone before us has now ****ed up and been relegated.

 

our squad is pretty young and pretty tired at the same time. It's strange. The 'edge of the seat' players either haven;t worked out or have been too inconsistent and I'd suggest there are leadership issues at centre back and an obvious lack of goals at centre forward. But I still think the pieces are there if we taget the right 3/4 players to compliment them.

 

Looks like Spurs will make a 50m profit on Alderweireld.

 

Iniesta has gone to Japan, what a player.

 

But he is damn good, probably the best CB I have seen at SMS for many a year.
