Judaist scripture is clear on homosexual men. Commit the act, and you can be killed in this life for it. And expect external damnation from their god after the scheduled judgement. Exercise for the reader as to what muslim/hindu scripture etc has to say on the matter.
It's clear as to the punishment, but not as to what the transgression actually is. The same applies to wearing mixed fabrics.
"If a man lies with a male as with a woman" where "lies with" is ye olde speak for : engages in sexual acts with. Very clear what the transgression is.
That's the act. What's the transgression? Who is harmed? Laws have reasons behind them. What's the reason for that one?
Going against an edict of God. Or are you saying that the Leviticus text is not an edict of the Hebrew god ... "Laws have reasons behind them." Sins don't have to. They are divine edicts, and as humans you are neither entitled nor fit to question them.
I don;t care whether you buy it or not. I do however care when people try and argue about sins and laws, without knowing the fundamental differences between them.
