Jamie Carragher knew Jordan Henderson would make the grade at Liverpool – after the midfielder was involved in a training ground spat with Luis Suarez. Henderson is hoping to cap a remarkable season by skippering Jurgen Klopp's side to Champions League glory against Real Madrid in Kiev on Saturday evening. The 27-year-old has come a long way since a difficult opening campaign with the Reds following his £20million move from Sunderland in 2011. And Anfield legend Carragher, a former team-mate of Henderson, has pinpointed a possible turning point in the midfielder's Liverpool career. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...ews/jamie-carragher-luis-suarez-spat-14696181 ah.....aha...….
Players rate players who stand up for themselves There does seems to be a hazing of sorts that goes on that if a kid stands up for themselves they get a chance. This is of course why salah and de bruyne had to leave cheslea. they were too quiet and got walked all over.
MITO kept banging on about seeing certain players in pre-season too. However, Voronin and Pacheco looked world beaters in pre-season previously. It means diddly squat.
Doesn't. Btw voronin never looked a world beater ever. Anyone who ever watched Pacheco in u18s and then u21s would tell you he was one footed and suso was twice the player. Preseason is for manager to look at players in training, not fans to look at games. If these guys don't impress in preseason they will go nowhere all season.
That was probably one of the famous typos. He meant to write Voronin looked like a wife-beater. please log in to view this image He certainly looks like he would have been right at home in a Southern US trailer park.
It doesn’t mean they’ll be brilliant but a good pre season would put them in the frame for the beginning of the season etc
Doesn't mean they'll even be any good either. Pre-season is purely about fitness, nothing more, nothing less
if you can find a quote anywhere I said that lad even looked a decent player work away and post it there g man.
not quite. it sets the pecking order. if youve not got into the managers thoughts then it takes huge amount to force in midseason as other a are favoured.
I know I have said vorinin looked good in pre season. not sure about mito. As already said it's so the manager gets a look at them and being a youngster it's whether he stays with first team squad or goes on loan. Vorinin was a squad player already when I made that comment and not a youngster trying to impress either.
TBH, I don't give a **** who said what about Voronin. Point is, he looked a great purchase in pre-season but was absolute turd. Pacheco similar but the "purchase" part. They've been others too. Pre-season season is similar to a player doing well in League Two; it's no where near the level required.
yeahhhh.. I can tell you faked it cos try as you might with the spelling.. well.. i've never said my goodness. you are such a yank milk.
But we are discussing a youngster trying to impress his manager and if not, likely go out on loan and eventually end up sold. not an already established not going to improve aging squad player.
Pacheco was a youngster. So was Suso. Both massively impressed in pre-season. It's not going to hurt but it's not going to really tell us anything in terms of ability. It may tell us about his attitude but I suspect Klopp will already know about that.
