Yeah I fell into a Spurs bubble on YouTube last night...it has been a week since we saw a game....so the withdrawal symptoms led to watching a load of videos. I think the guy is the heartbeat of our team now...deserves a massive wage rise for a start.

  3. This :emoticon-0148-yes:

I know there are times when we got frustrated with a few of his performances last season - and his deadball kicks have deteriorated - but the thought of him getting lured away this summer scares the royal **** out of me! <yikes>

He is intrinsic to this team and even if we could replace in terms of pure skill, replacing his influence would take months at best and for sure would write off next season.

If he wants +£150k per week then he’s one of the few who should be answered in the affirmative.

Beacon of truth, honesty and accurate journalism the Daily Star are saying that we're preparing a £43.7m bid for Gareth Bale

Is that his asking price on FIFA or something?

Meanwhile, here's something guaranteed to bring joy and paranoia in equal measure...

    Random Barca Starlet Watch

So after at least eighteen months of perpetually being linked to Andre Gomes, SportDotES are reporting that we are close to agreeing terms to sign a young central midfielder from Barca who has been tipped for great things.

That midfielder being Riqui Puig, not Andre Gomes, whose contract is up at the end of the season.

I'm sure Harry Winks will be overjoyed to hear that, just days after signing a new contract, we're linked with a Barca starlet who plays in much the same role...

Personally I wonder what would happen if our Dembele, Barca Dembele and Celtic Dembele were all on the same team. It would make the Jimm & Jeff Wheatley faffing about look positively straightforward!

I love Winksy but he doesn't pay like this lad. This guy's all about the final third, playing precise passes to players in front of him and running with the ball. The main problem with playing both of them is, if one stood on the other's shoulders, they wouldn't be over 6' tall.

I'm sceptical as to whether it will happen. Barca will come to some agreement with him and that's fine. We have a terrible record with foreign wonder-kids and this bloke is probably another KPB, Taarabt, GDS, that Belgian kid, etc, etc, etc. I like 1/4 but I'm not sure he's got it in him to play centre back in the PL.

I've heard Iniesta comparisons, but just assumed they were lazy as approximately eight Spanish youth footballers are compared to Iniesta every season - and we're usually linked with a couple of them...

Which makes it sound even more like bollocks, because (barring release clauses) when are transfer fees ever that neat?

Almost always I would think. No one bids £46,733,924.35 - they would bid in whole numbers. Only an idiot, to pull an example from nowhere, would bid £40,000,000.01.

Great news for HITC: perennial Spurs linkee Max Meyer is set to join...Hoffenheim.

Elsewhere, Lyon have activated the clause in Tanguy Ndombele's deal to make his loan permanent.

Finally, according to Voetball Primeur, Christian Maghoma is set to reject a new contract and sign for Twente.

While talkBALLS are trying to make out a move for Tanguy NDombele is possible, even while acknowledging Lyon are set to activate the clause to make his loan permanent by trying to claim that Lyon only want to sell him for a massive profit the moment they sign him, today's DEMEBELE REPLACEMENT is Lille midfielder Yves Bissouma...who, as a rudimentary Google search reveals, we were linked to back in December.

Here's the thing: today's Torygraph reported that we've been offered the chance to sign Jean Michael Seri, and when the options are someone who looks like a potentially quality signing like Seri and somebody routinely described as "raw" like Bissouma, it's hard not to ask why we didn't tackle Seri's agent to the ground and shove tenners in his mouth to get the deal sorted quicker.

Dembele's agent is suggesting that he won't be signing a new contract.

Can anyone name a player we should consider dropping everything to sign?

    That would be utter muppetry.
Even Wenger bid £40,000,001 for Suarez.
