Just back from the cricket at 10.30 pm...and all to suit a few Sky cricket viewers who don't get up early enough to watch 11 o'clock starts. At least it was an exciting finish and a Hampshire win - 2 out of 2 now!

Morning all. Lovely morning and plenty of incentive to be outside. Mme wanted to use her car today, but it has sat there unmoved for weeks, so the battery was flat. Early start to the day to rig up the charger and get it on the road again. She has now left and I see how the grass has grown around the area the car sat in. Might as well do some other areas while I have the mower out. Have a good day whatever you have planned.
Morning all. Warm and sunny start to the day, and the forecasters suggest it is going to steadily heat up over the next few days. I placed an order for a large parasol to use on our terrace. Days went by without hearing anything from the company, then suddenly an e-mail to say it was awaiting dispatch. Then another e-mail asking which day I would like it, followed by another one giving me a three hour slot for delivery. Just had a further one telling me it will be delivered today between 2pm and 3pm. The wheels were slow to start turning, but once on the move the service is pretty good.
Think I spoke too soon. Man with van turned up on time, disappeared inside and came out carrying a square box. Sign here, but looking at it I just knew that there was no way that you could fit a parasol in a box that size. I suggested he had another box for me, but he said no, that was it. Contact customer services and after a hour or so they tell me it will be delivered tomorrow. It came from Niort which is 150 kms away, so to double up on the transport has cost someone some money.
