Who would be on a Saints Mount Rushmore?

Saw this on SW a month or so back and thought it might be worth a go on here when quiet.

So which 4 figures from our history would make it?

It's difficult but I'll throw these out to begin with:

Bates, Lawrie, Stokes, Le Tiss

Maybe Markus in for Matt?

 

Great question, for me in my 30yr life span;

Le Tiss, Benali, Lambert & lundekvam

 

Bates, Markus, Le Tiss, Rickie

 

Ralph, Les, Les when he had hair, Kat

True, replace Ralph with Gao. I'm not sure Ralph has a clue whats going on anyway so i'm sure he wont notice he's now chinese.

Paine, Channon, Matty, Rickie

 

Cortese . People seem to forget that although it was Markus Money , it was Cortese who put the idea in his head .

 

Bates, Stokes, Le Tiss, Lambert

 

Far too difficult and would need to span a lot of our history, so Bates, McMenemy for sure Le Tiss probably and maybe Markus.

 

I know it's probably a bit sacrilegious, but I haven't got the same love for Lawrie that most have, so I'd swap him for Markus and Ted's already got a statue so wouldn't get another one.
I'd go for:
Marcus, MLT, Sir Rickie of Lambertshire and Mick Channon (but only if he's doing his windmill goal celebration)
Plus Cortese, standing slightly behind the other 4, testing the edge of a dagger with his thumb.

 

I think Bates and Lawrie have to be there personally. I only put Bobby in as his goal gave us our finest moment.

It's tough for sure.

Thing is surely Lawrie has to be there for getting us to the top flight for the first time and winning our only major trophy?

My Grandad always used to tell me he wasn't that great though funnily enough.

 

Us Grandads have our funny ways...I just never took to him as a man, and I don't really think I ever forgave him for buggering off to Sunderland. He is without doubt our most successful manager, and he brought us Alan Ball, Keegan and Shilton, however I just don't like him much.

 

For me I think we can split it into two Mt Rushmores. One for non players and another one for players.

Non Players: (I know...Bates was also a player)
Bates, Laurie, Adkins, Markus

Players:
Le Tiss, Channon, Rickie, Stokes.

If you want just 4 out of that:
Le Tiss, Rickie, Markus & Stokes.

He didn’t get us to the top flight for the first time, Ted Bates did in 1966. Lawrie did of course win us our only major trophy 10 years later. So both of them deserve to be immortalised, as does Markus for saving our very existence.

I suppose the last place should go to our greatest ever player, which must be Mattie.
