Agree with Mawson, don't think there will be a lack of clubs circling to sign hum. Much better option than Evans or Shawcross.
Evans is £3M due to a clause Mawson would be something stupid around the £20M area I would sign Evans and Dragovic personally
Dragovic and Mawson for me ... Mawson is only 24 whilst Evans is 30 ... Mawson would like be around the £15m mark and for me would represent the better investment and could forge a formidable partnership with Maguire ... or even in a back 3 with Dragovic ...
Evans will sit on the bench for one of the big 6 on silly money. Schmeichel Pereira Mawson Maguire Chilwell Ndidi Gregoritsch Silva Roberts - - - - - - - - - - Grealish Vardy Going to be interesting with pep saying they can't keep spending, suggesting he won't come back for Mahrez or will lowball us all summer. Would take £60m and Roberts tbf, but no doubt they will value him at £50m even though hes only had 4 mins of football at Man City. Gregoritsch has been linked with better clubs than us, so would be surprising, but just what we are looking for Not too sure on Grealish, still has that attitude stigma hanging over him, would assume he won't move if Villa get promoted. Anyone else feel we shouldn't be going for too many ex-Puel players? We don't need the french clique mentality like what happened at Newcastle.
I would like us to go after Adama Traore from Boro Needs abit of work but one hell of a player on his day
Every manager brings in their own players - we still have the Pearson clique who forced out Raneiri according to the hacks. Newcastle is different as it is the DoF bringing them in rather then the manager which is where the conflict is.
RB sorted Now just CB to go and without any outgoing we should be sorted. Being selfish, a CM to compliment N’didi would be nice but Iborra is very reassuring and maybe Silva will improve. I think Mahrez will go so a right winger would likely be needed
For CM we will have Mendy - he worked under Puel who should be able to get the best out of someone who was rated higher then Kante back in the day. We could do with another #10 to replace Okazaki imo and a big #9 to replace Slimani/Ulloa would be useful as well - simple answer would be to get someone that can fill both roles but they aren't a dime a dozen.
There are strong rumours that Athletico Madrid are after Vardy who would fit their system like a glove. We are linked with Marlon Santos - a 22 yo Brazilian from Barcelona who has been impressing on loan at Nice. We are also still linked with Jonny Evans but apparently the delay is due to his agent wanting £4m to complete the £3M transfer which is taking the piss.
We are linked with Ahmed Hegazi - a 27yo Egyptian CB from West Brom. Would make sense as rumours are Dragovic doesn't want to stay.
Would be odd to sign both Centre backs from worst team in the league (bar a late push). That said, both appear to be very good.
So if Macia went to West Ham and Walsh was brought back... how would people feel? I for one would be over the moon.
Considering how bad Walsh's last transfer window with us and first season with Everton was, I wouldn't be jumping for joy.
Mahrez to Man City is getting really close apparently - we are willing to accept their offer of £50m + Patrick Roberts now.
There must be a reason why WHU want to prize away Macia and not sign free agent Walsh. Seems to have won the Celtic fans over, so hes at least championship level
I’ve seen him play for Celtic and looked great... however it’s impossible to get a true idea. Van Dijk looked good and turned out to be world(?) class... but then again so did Aiden McGeady and Kris Boyd
‘There must be a reason why WHU want to prize away Macia and not sign free agent Walsh.’ I’d say he has a strong enough reputation from here to be an asset to anyone. I do personally feel he succeeded here as he just told Nige how to play to their strengths and he just did it... whereas not many managers will adjust their play like that
