And the longer it goes on the club seem to make cracking decisions in a state of panic, ie Pellegrino, Puel. I personally agree with HistoryRepeating. A steady appointment needed like Hughes, who the players obviously admired, rather than trying to be clever, like the previous 2 appointments.

Not hurting us either though. If we know with 99% certainty that he's the next manager it doesn't affect transfers as we will already be negotiating. Doesn't effect training as they are on holiday. It's really just saints mentality that everything is going to **** up. They're probably negotiating that break out clause etc. There's no rush for either party really. We're in a far better position than our two last two summers imo as hughes has already assessed the squad so the club should actually know what players it needs for the manager. This is what has pissed me off previously with delays in appointing managers.
There's a little matter of a World Cup next month. It would be quite nice to at least have the club on an even keel before that starts.

To negotiate which parking space he gets? There's no rush and a lot of minor details to sort out. If it's a done deal why would either party want to expedite it? Only reason I can think of is us fans going into a premature meltdown

to be fair he said we won't unearth one for a long time! The question is, is a long time 2 months or 10 years?
Is our record at unearthing players really that good. Mane is really the only one that stands out to me. VVD was a top centre back albeit in a minor league but pretty much everyone knew about his qualities, same goes for Tadic and Pelle. I'd say we have had as many misses as hits when it comes to transfers in fact the misses may be edging ahead.
