Arsenal have so many players who have either seen their best days or are just plain ****.

Cech, Ospina, Chambers, Holding, Bellerin, Mustafi, Xhaka, Wilshere and Welbeck just aren't good enough for a side of their stature.

People are unhappy that he has not yet recovered
    his imperious form of 2016-17.

    So the answer is :

By the stats. the long-term absence of Toby costs 1 PL
goal per season, and for Wanyama it is 10 goals.

    All about opinion, mine is

Ramsey is a very good player if allowed to float
The two full backs are good enough
Keeper, like Lloris is a second away from disaster at any point but can also be a game winner most of the time
Mustafi is **** and Kos needs a proper partner
Midfield needs work/structure and should be ok (they really missed Cazorla) but Elneny or Xhaka needs to hold if they are played there
Attack is very strong but has been allowed to get away with work because of the managers ethos.
They have a very promising bunch of youngsters coming through who are not given enough chances.

I think a change of manager and attitude at the club will bring about some decent improvement.

There is a famous joke :

According to the laws of aerodynamics, the bumble bee cannot fly.
But nobody told the bee that.

Spurs are the PL bumble bee. And don't they hate it.

    "Lol"

    LOL indeed.

What did that equate to in points?

You still haven't got it have you, the guy was stating what he thought the comparative stats were, I posted your figures as facts to clarify things. It was in no way derogatory to either you or Spurs.

Wouldn't say Chelsea have a very good squad, their first XI is good - although still not as good as the one they had last season thanks to the poor replacements for Costa and Matic. It's no surprise they've struggled this season with the addition of European football.

Arsenal need a whole new defence with the exception of Monreal and arguably a new CM pairing. I wouldn't say it's a case of players being poorly managed, they're just not good enough. Utd on the other hand actually have some class players but they're not flourishing under Jose. Pogba, Sanchez, Martial are all great players who seem to be struggling under him. Pogba reminds me a little of Paulinho for us. When he joined he was unreal in the first month or so but once AVB treid turning him from a box-to-box attack minded CM to a rigid DM, it just became a disaster, it's no wonder he's now enjoyed a very good first season for Barca as he's been able to play to his strengths.

    Indeed you haven't.
So let us try and spell it out to you in very simple terms ...

    1. The long-term absence of Toby this season equates
to +1 on the GA (ie he is not the dominant factor in the
    current Spurs defensive regime) .

    2. An extra goal on the GA does not result in a loss of 11 pts
at the end of the season.

    Like I said, opinions.
Managers can make a massive difference to the way individual players perform as you say, I think both Arsenal and Chelsea have the players to perform much better than they have this season (like us probably).

Make it simpler (a lot simpler in this particular case) , and ask :

Next season, what will be the pts and GD tally for the
team that finishes PL 4th ??

Then you have a measure of what must happen for the
current PL 5th and below to finish in the top 4.

Please tell us, and have you got next weeks lottery numbers while you are at it :emoticon-0100-smile

A 10 point swing over the course of a season is nothing, from the last two seasons alone

    Chelsea 23 pts down
    Spurs 9 pts down
    City 22 pts up
    Liverpool 1 pt down
    Arsenal 12 pts down
    United 12 pts up

So a 5 pt swing either way is quite possible.

That's just one season for six teams <ok>

You had no idea what I was talking about at the
    beginning, middle, or end (as I said : Never send a ... ) .

"Are you pissed off because I used your stats to put someone right?"

You used my data in a patently incorrect attempt to
"put someone right" . As you have now been emphatically
corrected on the matter , then nobody was "put right" .

Chelsea have great players but just not enough of them. Conte's an excellent manager as he showed in his first season but the addition of European football this season meant they couldn't cope on all fronts. Look beyond their first XI and they really aren't strong.

Arsenal just have too many poor players, even in their XI. Cech (due to age catching up on him), Bellerin, Mustafi, Xhaka and Wilshere aren't good enough to play in any of the other top 6 side's XI yet are mainstays for them.
