**** that’s a tough one to nail it down to 5. There’s a ton from the early days which are really important. Afrika Bambaata, Biz Markie, BDP’s South Bronx. Then there’s a whole host of of shiz from the 90’s Biggie obvs, Busta Rhymes, Nas and my personal faves The Pharcyde and Tribe called quest. Tough to narrow this down, but in terms of importance to the genre and bringing it to the attention of the masses it would have to be a toss up between NWA straight outta Compton or this, which I’m going for:
Not sure how you struggle to copy and paste from a phone but here you go pal... Does throw a spanner in the works mind since my maths mistake was intentional, I was assuming you'd post some ****e nobody else would like and it'd be vetoed
In no particular order: 1. Dr Dre ft Snoop Dogg: Still Dre 2. Public Enemy: Fight The Power 3. Wu Tang: CREAM @Skylarker over to you Personally my fave Dre tune is Nuthin but a G Thang.
Quirk of the iPhone, when you paste the link into the media window the page doesn’t scroll down to the ‘embed’ button. And yeah was going to pick out some Dilla but knew you mofos would veto it.
Mine does but even if it doesn't (my old one didn't) you just press return on the keypad instead of scrolling down.
Although most of the Nas songs on the album Illmatic could easily be up there. Best rap/hip hop album of all time for me, easily.
If I was asked to pick between 36 Chambers and Illmatic I don't think I could, it's not as easy for me but nothing else gets close.
