Sam wouldn't come to us. The only way that he would come back is if he felt guilty about leaving us in the clarts, which he won't, and take a massive pay cut, which he won't. I wouldn't want him back anyway cos he's dodgy as ****! If he doesn't retire his next job will be lower prem or upper championship. People need to lower their expectations regarding our pulling power and our new owner's bank balance.
Presser at 4pm apparently, also, Roker Report podcast has the man on himself. That is due anytime now.
Neebody bothered? We have a new owner by the way. Club fee 40m, he's got it on tick for the next two years(so paras to Short) but we're debt free.
Sunderland: Stewart Donald's consortium completes takeover from Ellis Short 4 minutes ago From the sectionSunderland Sharethis page please log in to view this image Former Eastleigh owner Stewart Donald, in partnership with an international consortium, has completed his takeover of Sunderland A.F.C. from Ellis Short. The deal sees the club pass from Texan businessman Short, who has ended a nine-year spell as owner by writing off the club's debt. The English Football League has ratified the change of ownership. Sunderland will begin the 2018-19 season at their lowest position in 30 years, after relegation to League One. To pave the way for this deal to progress, Donald has agreed to pass his ownership in National League side Eastleigh to existing board members. More to follow.

But he does confirm the £40m Donald is paying Short for the club is secured against the parachute payments. How did the sale come about? Hefty budget for the league we're in, like to hear that. It'll be interesting to see if they keep Bain on. It's my impression that he's done a good job but I'm not sure.
Reading between the lines, I reckon theyve got things lined up but they won't jump on board until promotion is secured (to the championship). Which is fair enough and probably a good way to do it
All good for me, seven days for a new manager is acceptable whoever it is is going to have to hit the ground running. A positive summer is something we fans are not used to at our club and I wish Donald every success, for entirely selfish reasons of course.
Just read that Coleman is in the running to be manager again. Potentially one of 4 that Donald will talk to https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/foot...nsidering-reappointing-chris-coleman-12573634
He should certainly be given the chance to put his case forward. Wages may be an issue though and questions should be asked regarding some aspects of his performance.
Ha, I called this the day after it happens and couldn’t find odds to back it. My thoughts were they wanted to lower his pay and was easier for Ellis to pay the compensation.
I'd rather take a punt on Stockdale, personally. Some poor decisions by Coleman in the run in cost us imo.
