MOTD and Cabaye

Just been watching MOTD there.

Cabaye has had such an impressive number of shots on target so far which have simply been missing a bit of luck. It's happened in all three of our EPL games and even against Scunny. I genuinely think Cabaye could bag himself 5-10 goals this season. If he had more luck on his side he could have bagged at least 3 already in only 3 league games. Over the next 30 or so, I expect good things from him.

And it pissed me off on MOTD there where he mentioned we were "candidates to go down". Well **** you Alan Hansen. 7 points in 9 against some tough sides with easier games to come. The quality is there, the team spirit is there and the fight is there.

 

They always have to mention something degrading about us. Martinez is sitting there looking at them like they're right ****s..

They looked like intelligent shots designed to catch the keeper off guard too, looking forward to seeing those flying in. That shot from the wing would have been a great goal.

 

Well Liverpool are aware of Krul now.

Martinez is the only one talking sense

 

They don't need him, they already have 2 quality keepers as it is.

 

Well Hanson wasn't wrong, we very much were candidates to go down. I don't think he was saying that was his personal view, but if it was it would certainly be a view that was shared amongst pundits and journalists throughout the country. When people say we'll go down, they're looking no further than the fact that we've sold a few of our best players, that we have no strikers and that we're quite possibly the most unpredictable club in world football. They don't take into account our fantastic goalkeepers, team spirit and all round hard working players.

On the Cabaye matter, I totally agree. It's not even as if he's just pinging anything that comes to his feet like Lumpard does and hopes for the best. He takes well thought out shots, and it has mostly been good goalkeeping that has kept him out. I'm tipping him to score a pearler or two this season.

 

On a side note, did you notice how Barton couldn't even sit through the entire QPR match?

 

Don't worry, we've got Petr the Czech to replace him, already twice the keeper Krul is, luckily Comolli has no clue!

 

Cabaye isn't receiving the credit he deserves right now, he's been a real gem in midfield and is growing game by game. Strong, good vision, great awareness, hard working, physical, cracking shot on him and is great in the box to box role. I hope we can keep him long term, I genuinely think he'll become that good for us.

 

Always liked Martinez, he's always come over as a nice guy.

 

You've just watched your new team get beat 2-0 by Wigan and a forward who's only scored 1 goal in English football previously getting a brace against them. I'd have gone after the second went in!

The first one depended on Al Habsi getting to it if it hadn't deflected, second one I agree with that.

 

You know that's exactly what I said when Hanson said that. He is such a tool sometimes, just because we have sold a couple of players we automatically are "candidates".

I missed the replay on MOTD, but the angle I saw it looked like it was on target anyway I'll trust your judgement though.

 

Hansen is far too full of himself, see how he interupted Martinez when he was speaking? The height of bad manners.
