ApOlogies if posted elsewhere but I couldn’t see that it had. We should be ashamed for missing this if it hasn’t... 17 years ago yesterday.
That was the only time I have ever been told to sit down at a game. I was still applauding the goal when the game was restarted. I was well and truly lost in the moment.
https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-05-20/feature-article-jan-bednarek-road-to-salvation-may-2018 Puff piece about Bednarek and his tough time at Saints which finished with a few games and possible selection for the World Cup.
I thought that was the best one as well, because he saves it every time you watch the replay....which seems impossible However, I went for the save against Swansea because of its importance....which I know is daft, because all points are important. Could easily choose a save earlier in the season if you use that criterion.
For a second I thought he meant the president of Japan. Then I remembered Japan doesnt have one as they use our system. I really need to lean Gao's face. Japanese part say: Dinner with the president of Southampton in Tokyo. I had a wonderful time. At least we know who convinced him to stay

Maya is up there with the best when it comes to most likable Saints footballer past or present. I imagine in his free time he's helping ducklings cross roads & checking peoples compost heaps for Hedgehogs. Legend.

Romeu is honest and one of the good guys. We all know he is capable of being one of our best players. *Couldn't wait for the end of last season....not quite excited for next season, but am dusting off the parapet and willing to consider looking over.
Interesting how the club have yet to publicly back safe-standing but almost all of the crowd photos are of people (unsafely) standing...!!
So, where as most players spend their precious free time between the end of the season and the new season/international duty relaxing at the beach, Maya spent it coaching kids. "Yesterday, Maya Yoshida visited grampus academy, fitting in time amongst a busy time period. The players were a bit nervous being infront of their idol, but everyone was starry eyed as they received advice about life in football. "Maya Yoshida, thanks you, Grampus will always love you." IIRC he did this last year too. If there was ever a person you want you kids to look up to...
