Fed up with going to soulless grounds even in the lower leagues, the quicker they bring back standing like Germany the better.

And I understand that too. But the battle has been lost years ago. When I first watched football in the 60s about ten clubs had a chance of winning the league and even then someone occasionally came from nowhere. Now money talks and if you happened to be in the top few when the PL started you got a head start which only masses of money (City and Chelsea) have really overcome. Perhaps a European Super League would be a blessing in disguise as it would leave a much more level playing field behind it. But it would probably also do away with promotion and relegation at the top level.

I wish the top six would clear off to a European Super League, fed up with it all.

Didn’t say anything about spurs going bust, more about Levy and Lewis priming the club for a sell off.

How do you maximise the value of a football club?

CL revenue is important, but realistically over the next 5 years (if you’re still in it) then you’re going to need that extra income just to pay the wages of CL players.

Then you have the issue of paying off the stadium debt. Sure you can sell some naming rights. Maybe the ‘Viagra stadium’ seeing as you can’t get past a semi ;) and there are other commercial deals to be done, but it’s a £1bn stadium ! One ****ing billion. It’s a staggering amount

Arsenal’s stadium cost us £390m and that included redeveloping Highbury into flats and building other flats outside the Emirates too. Even given for inflation that’s still around half of what it’s cost spurs. And as you know it took us over a decade to pay for the stadium, which meant selling our best players to finance it.

Imo Spurs will either have a decade of selling players and trying to balance the books or Levy and Lewis will flog the club off to a rich Yank who will want to expand the NFL role of the stadium. Who knows, they might even rename Spurs to be more US friendly and use your games as a warm up to the main event <whistle>

Build a new stadium, increase the corporate element, raise ticket prices, invite in an NFL franchise.

The stadium itself is about £850m. Its economics only stack up if it's used for things other than football. It's more expensive than the Emirates partly because it has lots of expensive technology that allows multiple uses.
We will see if we have to sell players but everything snowballs if we have a bit more success. Arsenal recently isn't a case study into how to run a football club....

Only at Wembley because like West Ham you’d struggle to get 50k.

I mean this is the kindest way possible, but I think you are deluded if you think you can hang onto your most valuable players,
Pay them the going rate and service the stadium debt.

The multi use stadium thing is a pragmatic attempt to raise more revenue, although it does water down the sense of it being your home ground a bit.

But that alone isnt going to service the debt. As I said, I think you’ll either try and do something similar to Arsenal, ie qualify for the CL and sell your most valuable players. Or ENIC will sell the club and the stadium.
