Reminds me of when I nearly got beaten up while organising a tug of war match and I asked for the two anchors to toss for ends.
I love words (and not just in quantity), but was told by a dear friend of long standing that although it may be my interest it wasn't hers! Just because I managed to get palimpsest into a conversation.....admittedly by saying that it was hard to get into a sentence Ooooh....I did it twice in one day. Result.
I knew this would start off 2 pages of silly words nobody knows! I'm certain Fran will win because she definitely doesn't have a kakorrhaphiophobia!
Just noticed... this thread name got changed away from a person again and our form picked up and we survived! Spooky. (We also sacked Pellegrino and got someone midway competent in)
Watched a programme about our Neanderthal ancestors....all of us not sub-Saharan black Africans have about 2% Neanderthal DNA. May be responsible for the laying down of body fat and type II diabetes. See.....I said chocolate wasn't to blame. I'm doomed anyway....might as well have another Crunchie.

I see Roman Abramovich is having difficulties getting back into the UK, after his visa lapsed. He missed the cup final as a result of this. I’m sure it will soon be resolved, and £2m for a 40 month visa, is nothing to him. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...-thought-to-be-caught-up-in-uk-visa-crackdown
Always get holiday money off M&S, but went to Thomas Cook today because it was more convenient. What a rip off....made the assumption that it wouldn't make much of a difference for a small amount of money. I would have saved £20 by going to the Post Office and £22 by going to M&S (though would have had to pay postage). Never again.
Anyone seen the story of the elderly couple forgetting where they'd parked their car? Mr Elliott said his partner parked the silver Ford Fiesta - registration EJ12 VSP - in "a really nice, quiet street", "There were houses just on one side, and all the cars were parked in their driveways. "On the other side there was greenery - maybe a park or a field. "Ours was the only car parked on that side of the road, alongside the greenery." It was found on Tuesday in a car park about 900m from the hospital and had been ticketed three times by wardens. But after it was discovered in St George's Road car park, she said she must have "dreamt it when I realised I couldn't find the car". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-gloucestershire-44222054
