I agree chesh and in an ideal world that’s the way it would work. Unfortunately that’s not the case. Contracts are not worth the paper they are written on
He can just put in a transfer request or cause **** in the dressing room club will then want him gone
Do the whole West coast WJ. Kerry, West cork, Donegal and the counties eire mentioned. Much better scenery than the east
Once again going to nail my colours to the mast - I honestly don't believe and have never believed he is a Cellino, a Bates or a GFH here to rinse the club for his own benefit (or at least not unless we're successful). He's earning a lot, lot more from his own business than he could do buy selling Pontus. The only way he gets a serious return on his investment is by getting back to the premiership. Looking forward to this summer - think Heckingbottom will be gone this week and we'll get some strong players in and will be heading into next season with some optimism. (if we do start next season with Heckinbottom and no changes to the squad then even I'll reassess my opinion of him....)
Couldn't have put it better myself. For a man who's used to making tens of millions at a time, Leeds is a huge gamble. He'd prolly do better getting pissed in a casino. He knows more about football than you think, btw. It's only the RUNNING of a football club that he's unclear about, but people hear what they want to hear. He can still spot a player, a performance, tactics, a good team, morale, good manager etc. etc. Most successful entrepreneurs would struggle to run a club - and there have been some glorious failures - because the biggest issue they have is fan expectation (and no greater than with us), closely followed by selfish spoiled brats with egos the size of a big thing, and the feckin' underhand scum that are known as agents.
Being involved in all aspects of sport he knows more football people than all of us put tigether. As an example how did he latch onto Kenny Dagliesh and discuss Leeds, he knew Cellino not because he was Italian, he knows the owner of every football club in the Far East including China where he has massive contacts. Hes involved in sports PR, Sports publications, Sports TV sports advertising, sports companies including sporting goods manufacturers. He involved Kinnear because he made Arsenal shed loads of cash by selling Highbury, developing Highbury into homes, and building the Emirates he also made West Ham the deal of the century by stealing them the London Olympic Stadium and selling That shythole in East London. Radz is smart and he knows that TA needs scrapping and a new academy building and attaching to a redeveloped ER. He alos knows he needs Premier League cash
The players hold all the cards, if a player wants to leav then he will that. Not much the club can do about it.
Has it occurred to you that he might be lying on a beach somewhere? He's prolly the only one of the squad who isn't if he's not. Hols booked a long time in advance. Even PH is on hols. And a signing like this needs all the faces in place for the PR photo too. Says he with fingers, toes, arms, legs & eyes crossed!
Quite true, he hasn't. But why should he require 'talks' when he returns from the WC? No-one else is having 'talks'. Contracts are all signed & sealed for years in advance. What's to talk about?
Another article, possibly with a better translator. Perhaps I've been a bit harsh on Pontus, based on the OP article.... https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/leeds-united-transfer-pontus-jansson-14682945 Btw, at the bottom of the article, take part in the keep/sell quiz & see the end results. Interesting. Perhaps someone could post the results - I exited the tab & can't be bothered going through the squad again. Cheers!
