I am a fan of Colin Murray too and was pleased when he only lasted five minutes in that **** stick of a station, talksh1te. On Southgatse, do you remember the 98 World Cup when the England players agreed to get as many Wham song titles into their interviews as possible? Southgate was at the front in that one. I remember him being asked about preparations and the first thing he said about the hotel was, “it’s not Club Tropicana...”
Hughes wants the salary he had at Stoke and we will not pay it. So stand off and we have looked elsewhere.
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/sa...week/?action=success#comments-feedback-anchor I haven't seen a single alternative name being touted?
No, still not 100% on the ST but the manager wouldn't impact that decision unless we did something like appoint Sam.
DTLW/Jeremy Wilson vs Godders in a winner takes all ITK grudge match. We doubted Godders once before so would be foolish to doubt again, although anything Wilson says comes from the horses mouth, stay tuned folks it's going to kick off shortly...
He probably was on a pretty good wedge (plus bonus) for a short term contract finishing with success....perhaps we aren't willing to pay it for a possible 3 years. After all we must have had to bite the bullet when Puel and MP2 left. However, I think (unless it is seriously stupid money) we should pay it unless we have a genius knocking on the door. Please, Saints, don't spend all summer looking.
...a thought to throw into the mix. MH has been on the receiving end of "the Southampton Way" and knows how hard it is to play against, and has said so in the past. That makes him at least an interesting prospect for next year, and I for one would be interested in seeing what he can do. He is also clearly a leader and a motivator. He also clearly appreciates that in order to win a game of football, you at least have to kick the ball in the direction of the opponent's goal on occasion - and that alone is a vast improvement over his predecessor.
Well the only salary information I can dig up suggests that Hughes was on 900kpa at Stoke. We were paying Puel half of that, Koeman more than double that and hopefully not paying Pellegrino at all (which would explain a great deal). I can't imagine that there is a fall out over salary as the numbers are all, by PL standards, very small. If we are haggling, more fool us.
That doesn't sound like us at all. Waiting to make an offer for Toby. Waiting for someone to take Puel from us. No, we never try and pinch every last penny, whilst our rivals just get on with things.
