Granted, he is only 30, so there's still a decent length career left in him. But he really hasn't looked for Stoke in recent times. Even with Butland behind him (and quite a dour, defensive central midfield in front of him), Stoke still conceded a horrendous number of goals this season.

We need to sign a leader this summer, yes. I'm yet to come across a Saints fan who disagrees with that. But they need to be a leader with ability.

 

Chuck them another 3 and take Evans as well. Summer transfers over in one cheap swoop.

Is Hart's contract up, or does he still a year left?

If the former, then it doesn't really matter what his City wages are. He'll have to accept whatever he is offered (by whomever), or earn nothing.

 

No from me (on Hart) as well - keep McCarthy as number one and grab someone young and hungry as back up.

 

We might have problems shifting Fraser Foster. He’s on an estimated 80 grand a week.

I guess we could ship him out on loan and if he can put in some decent performances, we might get a sale.

I would never go for Hart, it’s not our style. We will be looking for the next Alex McCarthy!

Reported interest in Tadic at Ajax. Price may put them off if there is interest from bigger clubs. IMO we must hold onto Tadic...get the best of him by playing the style we all like. He will still be worth money later as his contract is until 2020.

 

I'd also keep him but that last part really isn't true. Next summer he'll be 30 and have one year left on his contract. We wouldn't get much of a fee in those circumstances.

 

Having one year left will still give him a value....and that depends on how desired he is. He's more important playing for us than any money raised. Good player and gives us some continuity. Need to get him back to his best.

We aren’t the place for Hart. He needs his confidence back, and St Mary’s isn’t the place to acquire that. He’ll be jeered from the get go.

Selling Tadic is risky but at his age and contract, I would cross my fingers and do it if we got a good enough price.

 

I reckon we'd get between 12 - 14M.
He is worth more to us than that, as he has proved under Marks guidance. Keep keep keep!
With our recruitment at present, we really should not be letting anyone of note go. Especially attackers.

 

Yeah this summer is the last time we could get a good fee for him, wouldn't surprise me if they moved him on.
