A lot of London's knife crime is perpetrated by impressionable youths seduced by the gang culture glorified in American Gangsta Rap. They think it's cool to be badass and are under huge peer pressure to commit crime to be accepted. There have always been gangs of youths carrying knives in the UK, Teddy Boys, Mods and Rockers etc but the modern gangs are more into drug dealing and prostitution and money and materialism is valued much higher than human life now.
Legalise and regulate drugs and prostitution and use the tax generated to fund a decent police force.
This year is the first time London has ever had a higher murder rate than New York, and New York itself is already relatively low as far as large US cities go, not sure what point you're getting at there. It's not as if crime in London hasn't had plenty of coverage this year

... the guy yesterday equalled ten of your stats in 15 minues or so ... that's the reality and the major differentiator ... and unlikely that any of the victims yesterday had anything to do with gang culture ... that's not to excuse the London stabbings ... but your kids shouldn't be dying at their schools ...

If the murders in London happened in the form of a mass stabbing at a school then the coverage would reflect that. Plus there's no pantomime villain like Trump here that comes out with nonsense after every killing

I didn't at any point say the stats were sensationalism, i said the media were. The same media that had Trump and N Korea virtually about to go to nuclear war but then suddenly are the best of buddies. The same media that promoted Blair's campaign against Iraq. The same British media that are more interested in America's gun law than what is happening on it's own doorstep
