Not sure about this one I suppose time will tell but my gut feeling tells me he is not the right man for QPR and I think this won't have a happy ending!

This is purely based on my feeling and I can't offer any alternatives which might sound a bit lame!!

I have only read the last few pages on this thread, am I the only person who feels this way?

    Busy all day.
    He's in and I'm pleased.
We have a manager who took a team to Wembley where they would have won on another day.
We have a manager with international contacts - another Dutch player or two?
We have a manager whose probably a better tactition than Ollie (perhaps not hard).
Hope the elephant in the room (FFP) sorted soon.
    Good luck Steve
Hope you're successful for all our sakes.

Woke up to an appointed manager, who would have thought?
Anyway, l hope we can attract the right type of players to assist our club in heading in an upward direction to be worthy of making the play-offs.

I have just watched the Steve McLaren interview on QPR+ and to be honest, it sound very logical and sensible. I cannot fault it. I recommend to watch it if you can.

My morning after thoughts are as follows. I think that we all agree that McClaren is a very good coach. But there are questions over his managerial record. But who do we really need?

With our current structure we need a good tactician and a coach to develop the youngsters. Mc Claren ticks both boxes.

He want to play attractive attacking football that get results, and which the players want to play and fans to watch. :)

The words are excellent. I hope he is able to deliver.

Welcome back Steve. I really wish you every success!

At last, we have someone in who understands football. SM would never have been my first choice however, He will be a million times better than Hollow. We have a group of young and exciting players that he will coach. Agree with other comments regarding contacts on the international scene. This will really help us. I really believe that we can all be excited about the coming season. Welcome Steve.

Yep, be good for a positive press conference and a statement of intent from Mr Mac, his vision and what he is intending to implement.

    It was also very coherent.

I am sure that he will be able to get his message across to players very precisely.

I also found it very motivational and inspirational.

I really hope that he can deliver.

He's already made his statements in an interview on QPRs site. It was actually better than the usual manager interview but still... you're never gonna get an actual interesting interview with a player or manager. They can never reveal behind the scenes goings on and they're all gonna say the same, positive stuff.

Is he bringing in his own back room staff or keeping those in situ?
Wish him well obviously because I think we all want the R's to do well...

Such is the importance of this announcement and the current profile of our club that the appointment of McClaren did not feature on the homepage of the BBC Sport website yesterday or anywhere in the enormous Sport section of today’s Times.
