We've stared relegation in the face, and only just survived. *But the board are going screw us now with some cheap appointment from nowhere. *Some 'high energy press maestro' who fits the Southampton way. *I've sided with Les before now, but I think he might be about to burn his last bridge. *What a shame we all have to go down in flames together. *The arrogance of the man. I think Godders is on to something, it would have been done already.*
One of the boards many failings in the last year was fannying about with decisions, not least during the jan transer window and the absurd delay is removing MP. It would appear nothing has been learnt or changed because we still have no manager despite having had weeks to sort things out in the background. Unbelievable.
If it's not Hughes it could be for a number of reasons, and it could be MH himself that has decided it's not for him. We perhaps ought to wait and see before hanging Les and Freddy.
I hereby pass my Les defending title to to IOAG. Good luck luck pal,. I'm out. Pitch forks at the ready.
I know/think you're not being totally serious but I'll answer just the same . None of us know for sure what happens behind closed doors at SFC. We all assume that this season's near disaster was all down to LR and RK, and because of that understandably, the apparent hold up of signing Hughes is their fault also. But it may have been down to Gao, we just don't know what his input is at the moment. How about that HistoryRepeating?
I thought it would be a done deal by now. Now I’m dreading the long drawn out interviews, followed by a statement saying that the new manager won’t be rushed into signing new players until he has had a chance to run the rule over the current squad, to determine IF he needs to bring in fresh blood. Then the long drawn out saga of “Will he, won’t he sign” before whoever he is says no or joins someone else, in the blink of an eye. The joys of being a Saints fan.
The Telegraph usually have the inside story on us....so I guess this is likely...unless there is a major parting of ways between Saints and Hughes. Reading between the lines it seems Saints want to avoid having yet another major pay out if results go awry, whereas Hughes (and assistants) will want some protection. Let's hope a deal is close. The Les Reed bit doesn't necessarily means he is on his way, but it's the first time such a thing has been suggested.
A deal with MH, EN and MB is all but done. The chances of it going awry is very, very minimal. (but as Fran will rightly point out... this is Saints! )
