Would be a bit underwhelming getting Arteta when we’ve been linked with Allegri and Enrique, but if rumours are to be believed Mislintat and Sanllehi are already about to make 2-3 signings, so maybe a coach is what we need rather than a manager who had control of everything.

I just don't understand how a manager is asked to work with other people's purchases when a manager will surely work better with his own purchases and it will be just as easy to allow the manager to identify his targets. Yet it will be the manager who gets the flack when he can't work right with the purchases.

Some ****ers are doing the buying who can't manage, pathetic....what qualifies them? I think it's more to do with numbers, the chairmans people working according to his blueprint. I think we have a similar issue at Spurs with some kind of transfer Commitee and it hinders the manager, no doubt.

Seeing as Poch is gagging to leave Spurs maybe they should try for him?

Most clubs have some sort of "transfer committee" thing now I thought? The manager is usually on it though and has some input into signings, but I thought the days of a manager building "his" own squad were over. I think it is better that way as you have a team of people who decide how they want the club to play football and buy players/hire managers who fit into whatever they are trying to do.

For me it doesn't work...all they need to do is set a transfer budget. It's not as though this Commitee does not spend in order to buy its targets. Why not let the man doing the managing decide where to spend it and if there us such a lack of trust then they have the wrong man anyway. I totally understand managers who walk out of jobs because they can't buy their own players but instead have to settle for imitations, which also cost money.

Yeah I hear ya. I’d prefer to get a manager in who makes his own decisions on player transfers. And if Arteta does come in then I’m sure he will in future windows. It just looks like Mislintat is moving quick in this window as we don’t have anybody in place yet.

Yeah love being out in the wilderness seeing some interesting animals. This trip has been amazing for wildlife, it’s basically just beaches, forests and rivers up here. So a rich habitat for all sorts of wildlife.

All the best with the fasting fam. And God bless.
