I hope Colin is around in some capacity for a while. One thing we've lacked since tan arrived is footballing nous. It's why we got burnt last time we went up. Not the relegation, which could happen this time as well, but the mess we got into with players and contracts. Warnock knows enough not to let that happen.
Tan recognises that and will want to keep that around.
He may not be manager, but he will be at the club.
My hope is that at some time bellamy becomes manager with Warnock DoF.

Agree with the sentiments about Warnock but I think he'll go all out to prove us wrong. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks but he's one old dog that I wouldn't bet against - all he's got to do is finish 17th.

Am I the only one over this side of the Bridge that doesn't want Bellamy to manage us? I can't see it in him in the medium term let alone at the moment and by that time (if ever) Warnock will be on his farm driving his tractor not a club.

I get that Bellamy is a Cardiff hero given how good a player he was, but why do people assume that alone translates to good management material? Not to say that he wouldn't be a success, but he doesn't come across as the most (ahem) 'cerebral' of guys, and I'm sure there'll be much more suitable candidates for you guys as and when Warnock moves on.

    Don't think you're alone Sparkey.
I quite like his attitude though and he sets an example around the club. Also agree Warnock won't be around forever but some succession planning would be ideal rather than just jump to someone from outside the club. Tan trusts Warnock and is allowing him to do a root and branches review of the club. There needs to be some longevity in that.

Hi Nick. I'm not assuming he'll be a good manager because he was a good player, he could totally flop. Many of the top managers are / were not world-class players, though there are exceptions. For every Wenger, morinho, fergusson and dyche, there is a Brian Robson, Garry Neville or John Barnes.

From what I've heard and read though, bellamy has a good understanding of the game, has been doing his groundwork at other clubs and in other sports and is making an impression in our academy.
I also feel his intelligence is under rated. He is quite analytical and articulate when he speaks.
I know he is yet to cut his teeth, but doing it with Colin as his mentor would be a good introduction.

Agreed - I can remember back when great players like the two Bobbies, Moore and Charlton went into management after their stellar playing careers and and were a bloody disaster.

Bellamy has got an awful lot to learn about handling people - he can't manage them with a golf club like tried to with Arne Riise.......<laugh>

I think reality is setting in.

It's going to be a tough old division AGAIN next year. Looking at the 3 sides going down they look the least well equiped to dog it out and I don't think they've got the players to play their way out.
I read some time ago that they rely most heavily on tv payments in the premier league. That might have changed with the likes of Huddersfield and Brighton being in there, but it means it has the biggest impact when relegated.
If the 3 in the playoffs not promoted retain most of their squads with the likes of Preston and the robins (if they can be more consistent for the whole season) there is a lot to overcome.
Someone over there was saying get Martinez back, spend £60m on players and get back to the Swansea way. The last part may be correct but it'll take a while, but don't see where the money will come from.

I see a fire sale coming. And it will be needed to balance the books.

I've no doubt we'll struggle, but don't see it being that simple for our cousins down west.
    Hey ho.
Hope they still talk to us.

You won't need to bother with us after the season starts - you'll soon be posting on the Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea fans forums chatting with the plastics - a lot of whom probably live just around the corner in both our cities and go to the local comps!!!!

For me, I'm thinking about the prem as a holiday.
Need to keep our neighbours sweet because at some point we'll come home. <cheers>

Not interested in the plastic mancs - no reason why the banter and chat between Bristol City and Cardiff City posters shouldn't continue. <ok>

The added spice could be the joining in of some decent Jacks as well - despite recent experience, there are still a few about......<laugh>
