Good Morning Everyone Phil Hay is reporting that Leeds are overhauling thir wage system this Summer. please log in to view this image Phil Hay@PhilHayYEP The wage structure will shift this summer. Club are definitely open to paying more for individual players. That's not to say they'll get Hernandez but they want him. It means players will no longer be limited by restrictions of £15,000 a week. Surely a step forward? It looks like Abel Hernandez has overtaken Jerry Mbakogu as their first Summer target. Its like there's a little voice going off in Messrs Orta and Radrizzani's ears saying 'we don't want Serie B crap'. The Uruguay international is out of contact at Hull. It will be nice to get one over on our neighbours? Surely this is something to get excited about? Who was Leeds best keeper of all time? Martyn Harvey Sprake Lukic Robinson Put them in order - best first...
Morning all, did you see the link to the Hull board I posted yesterday Elland? Some new member posted the Hernandez rumour two weeks before the tabloids linked us with him. Strange one, don’t believe we have got a chance of landing him myself. If we’re genuinely after this type of quality great, if it’s a publicity stunt to appease fans then I’ve had enough, problem is we’ll never know the truth.
Morning not sure which keeper is best. Out of contract players are worth raising the wage structure .plus off course as long as its not a four year contract they can be sold later.will have to check up on pablo doublo as i dont watch hull. New song to sing if we get him. Only two hernandez
If the Uruguay International is out of contact at Hull, what's the chances we'll be able to find him?.....just a thought...
Morning all Hernandez is a deal they are trying to land, not a PR stunt as too much has gone into it already. Apparently there has been at least one whole weeks of talking going on behind the scenes and the window has only just officially opened. This will come down to ambition versus wages. A £10m player for free is massive for us but his wages will be high unless the deal Steve Bruce did with the Hull players was based upon which league. For example Hernandez was brought in by Bruce when they were Championship, so wages would rise by whatever % if promoted and would fall by a % if then relegated. A wage escalator is the only way for small clubs to stay solvent. So he may be on £25k a week and the max at Leeds is £15k. Radz said last year that for the right player the barrier would be broken and this would be it right now as no transfer fee required and the only extra cost for this player would be an extra half million each year in wages rather than a million each year for 5 years for a £5m player bought. Another biggy that's going on behind the scenes is Bartley. According to hay the clubs are in talks and Bartley wants to come but Swansea making it hard because of relegation and Kyle is a top Championship CB (If fit) If Radz can land these 2 deals then we will have a much better season and it will be great seeing Tyler Roberts and Abel Hernandez in tandem up top, with a second string waiting in the wings of Edmondson and Clarke Wonder how the Hecky meetings are going?
We agreed to sell him to Villa last summer for £20m, but the deal fell through, as he demanded £50k a week, rising to £75-100k a week in the Premier League.
It is if we do make the right signings Have we learned our lesson then ? we'll soon know.... Hopefully after the World Cup, Wimbledon & Royal Ascot everything will be hunky-dory
Morning all. Ill not comment on transfers till October and weve seen them in a few games. Thanks to social media, I expect well be linked with dozens over the coming months
He may also realise he could struggle to gain a regular first team place as we have Ayling, Berardi & Coyle all vying for the RB spot
Hmmn not so sure, Harvey had a great back 4 in front of him... as did Sprake who was a good shot stopper but would we have won more with safer hands... not just the 70 cup final. Martyn top for me...seems theirs No love for Johnny bostik? Error prone early in his career but solid enough later on. Guess it depends on entry criteria and whether you’re looking at ability v achievements. Can we claim seaman... Sullivan was a good keeper
On the subject of keepers, Gianluigi Buffon plays his final game for Juventus wonder if Juve will go for Felix as his replacement
