seasons demise...going from 7 points behind Chelsea at Christmas, from 4 points behind Arsenal and from 7th place to finishing 7 points above Chelsea (14 point gain) and 14 points above the goons (18 point gain) and into 3rd place...
    seasons demise?

    @Hoddle Is A God

We spoke a week or so back about a glass ceiling at Spurs and the immediate effects of a new stadium.

I reckon there is one, you reckon there isn't.

In light of Poch's new comments which pretty much state 'I've taken the club as high as I can and it needs investment to take it further' do you now think there is in fact one?

To compete any further up the table surely you need to invest or risk losing the manager and potentially existing top players?

  3. Yawn.

Even Martin Keown (a Gooner legend) has said that but for the distraction of having to play all of our games away, this season, we would have easily finished second, a long way in front of abject United, and that we would have given City a proper run for their unlimited pots of money.

And that's a Gooner legend saying that!

We finished 2nd last season and we should have easily finished 2d this season.

So, no. I don't think we have to invest a great deal to challenge for the title.

What we have to do is change our wage structure so that we keep both Poch and our top players.

    We shall see.

The disadvantage of playing at Wembley is purely self inflicted.

I've also said before you could not have chosen a worse time to build a new stadium.

Really good manager and squad when they should be competing are now being disrupted - as you've pointed out.

Arsenal had a lull for years after moving stadium.

You may find investment gets focused on that and the current opportunity passes by.

But Keown reacted by saying that Spurs will not have "complete satisfaction" from their season as they failed to win a trophy, losing in the semi-final of the FA Cup to Manchester United last month.

You may as well talk to a brick wall Stan, spurs fan have no real ambition and are prepared to wait 57 years and more for a title winning team as long as the club make money for their greedy board.

Rumours this morning (from HIAG's favourite source) <laugh> that Pochettino might be off to Chelsea! ... would that rank on a par with Sol Campbell joining the Goons? <whistle>

Manager Mauricio Poncetto will commit to Tottenham for one more season amid interest from Chelsea. [Sun]

One last attempt to win something before he ****s off to a proper club with ambition?
