I think Naismith could have contributed goals which other midfielders didn't this season (Maddison and Murphy being the exception). I can't see Jarvis going out on loan but he could provide another wide option if he's finally fit again. As said above DH, the saving in wages is only over the 40 weeks of the season, so £400k.

I agree in principle, but getting even £10k p/w for any or all of them sounds ambitious. We need to get rid/loan them out to minimise our cost as best possible. No one is demented enough to buy them. I think that with 2 of Pinto/Reed/Godfrey we have sufficient cover at right back, sell or fail to buy and only have one, then Martin might just have value as cover. I could see Pinto signing a new deal, klose less so, Pinto hardly looks a cut above our current level, so I think he might just be happy to resign on reduced terms if that is in the ball park of as good as he can get. Klose, could very easily have suitors who might pay more and so I expect him to move on. We are also well stocked on CB's especially if the rumours about Toni Leistner coming are true. That would give us assuming sales or loans for Franke & Martin: Hanley, Zimmermann, Raggett, Leistner and Godfrey in an emergency.

    Bah!

Nelson Oliveira has been interviewed in Portugal about his future, his comments seem to suggest he expects to leave.

I honestly believe if his head was right he could be a good striker. Sadly not to be I fear

Think the writing of that has been on the wall since the first game of the season when Farke was miffed about his celebration, and then refused to play him for about 3 months.

Touch of exaggeration there FML. He played 5 matches in August and had 6 goals in his first 10 games this season, then 3 in the next 31 appearances. IMO Oliveira has problems facing up to his own failure in those final 31 appearances. The chances were there, whatever he says to the contrary.

He was our best striker, wanted by Premiership clubs. 15M was mentioned. He's gone off a cliff this season. How Farke treated him, and Farke's tactics I hold mostly responsible for that.

If £15 million had been offered, we'd have bitten their hands off!
I guess it was also down to tactics at all the other clubs he's had an all too short spell at?

Don't know or care about his other clubs. All I know is he was a classy little striker and this season he's suddenly become really ineffective.

Farke not wanting any players in the box, only playing 1 striker and expecting his striker to track back or run the wings. I think, hasn't helped him perform as a striker.

Just look at Jerome. He's been raved about since he left. He's had a really decent spell. Because he is played as a striker who is told to get into the box and be a target man. Instead of being told to hug the line and be a make shift winger with the other winger.

That's a sweeping statement. You don't think his inability to stick with a club might tell you something that may be lacking in his make up?
I agree that we haven't yet found a way to utilise a striker, that may come, I don't know, but I don't believe it's all Farke's fault in this instance.

Yes the player has to take criticism. It obviously shows he's maybe mentally weak. Which I don't like. As a manager or "coach" or whatever he calls himself. You have to asses your players and personality, and work accordingly. Especially if you are at a club where the board have wasted every good thing we had, and are now a selling club who can only sign cheap lower league players. You need to be able to be flexible with how you treat or talk to certain players to get the most out of what you have. I don't think DF has ever shown that.

I agree with some of that, but the fact remains, no coach has been able to do it with this player. He's still young enough to make a name for himself, but something within him has to change, (in my opinion). Dislike Farke all you like but I don't think it's all down to him.

Strange that Maddison credits DF's coaching ability for bringing the best out of him, but what do I know? I've never heard of most of these classy footballers playing in Europe <doh>
