even if a bid is accepted, does maynard want to come?! If he did im sure he would have done something about it!
And by the other token, he wants to stay at BC, why hasn't he signed a new contract? It just doesn't work like that. BC will be holding out to get the max they can for him. At least Maynard's being professional enough not to start saying "I want this" and "I would prefer that". DJ Campbell he isn't - thank God!
I think what Sven said is true on his post match comments against Southampton, Bristol City are using your millions to our advantage asking for more and more and more until you finally crave and pay stupid ammounts for him.
But if he joins us, he won't have to play for a s*** team all season, and may well be playing in the Prem next year. So I don't see any advantage to him staying at BC.
well, at us he could be tied down to a non-selling championship team who keep missing out on promotion and, in his prime, not get in the premier league as we stay in the championship. One s**t season for bristol and he could end up leading the line for a europa league team (your fulhams, stokes etc).
There's optimism for you! Seriously though, clubs will always sell players that don't want to be there. I know we would.
Because for the last time he wants to go to the Premiership. If no Premiership team comes in for him we are his preferred choice. We just need the bid accepted asap.
but if bristol accept a bid, that doesnt mean he will leave. He might not want to be there, but he might not want to be with us either. At the end of the day, we are still a champ team with no guarantee of getting out.
maybe, but i think he would rather go to the premiership next year rather than join us. He is in his prime and needs to go now. Going to us is a career gamble for him.
We're expecting him to leave Ed, his missus is due to give birth in 3 weeks so that may have an influence on what he does. I've no problem if he comes to you, couldn't care less where he goes tbh, just want the money to rebuild now
if i was bristol id want him to leave- ridiculosu money for a man in the last year of his contract. im just not overly sure how attractive we are to him.
"Eriksson, though, will struggle to make a shrewder signing than Kasper Schmeichel, with the goalkeeper’s heroics earning the Swede his first victory at the King Power Stadium this season." But the Leeds fans said.... Good attitude Natchrawldry. Bristol City are a feeder club who will always lose their best players, so the best you can hope is to make good money on your sales. £6m to a club the size of yours will be a massive boost!
I don't understand this attitude Ed. We are still one of the favourites for promotion, if not even this year then certainly next. We're a progressive club and every player that welcomes a challenge should want to be part of it.
with his missus about to give birth, i think he will want to stay, till january at least. Actually no, move now and get settled before the baby comes- most attractive option really. Ph i just dont know what he is thinking!
Probably more attractive than we are with the problems we have with our squad at the moment... It's a crazy offer like you say with someone with a year left, that said he may prove to be a snip at 6m. Not long to wait to see how it all pans out thankfully, for what it's worth I think if Sven is preparing a 6m bid like The Telegraph say then the offer will be accepted (bloody well ought to be anyway) Whether a Prem club comes in and steals him is another matter.
Where's this been posted LG? Edit: By the way, for anyone to say we are a feeder club is wrong, but in this case with NM not signing an extension, it's good business for us.
yeah, no offence meant but we are a hell of a lot more attractive than bristol, but are we more attractive than what he could get in 10 months time? no-where near i think. Unless we are promoted- but thats the gamble.
