    It’s not been advertised that much, I didn’t even know. Why not play the EL final the day before the CL to get better exposure for it.?

    We were sleep walking into a relegation battle, there was no fight, organisation, coherent team selection, nothing.

    It was strong management from Moshiri. He’d paid a fortune to get Koeman released from Soton and had a large compensation bill to face for sacking him, but he acted decisively and at the right time. He brought Allardyce in due to his track record of keeping sides safe, and obviously had no intention of retaining him post the end of the season. Hence his original offer to him, which Allardyce wouldn’t accept.

    Reds invited to play in new FIFA Club World Cup
    For all their five European Cups, the Reds have still never been crowned world champions.

    FIFA are ready to invite Liverpool to take part in a new 24-team Club World Cup to be held every four years and launching in 2021.

    The tournament would have 12 teams from Europe, with clubs who have won at least three European Cups the first to be invited.

    ECHO Head of Sport David Prentice writes:

    The story was revealed exclusively by today’s Times with Martyn Ziegler’s report claiming first invitees would include Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Ajax and Inter Milan. Juventus would also be invited on the basis of having won two European Cups and two Intercontinental titles.
