morning all, we should snap there hand off, Bartlett made him look good. Also time for some passion and commitment from the boardroom, if they give the same effort as the fans do, especially away from home we would be in the top half of the Prem. SORT IT RADZ!!!!!
Just been looking at some data around Championship club spending and gambling on promotion. Derby are in deep doodah now as their 3 year gamble has killed them. Wendies are in the same boat after last couple of seasons where they made play offs, but died this season and are now in trouble. Sunderland boooom and Villa may well be next as they have problems with owners and last financial statement showed a loss of £82m and this was before Bruce bought his way to the play off final with players like John Terry etc. If Villa miss out they may be in the crap. The report highlighted changing times and the formula for getting to the premier league. managers like Big Sam who took lowly Bolton to the top table and kept them there. Pullis doing the same at Stoke and look what happened when they got rid of the managers. The blueprint today is Sean Dyche who should be the manager of the season. Took them up in 2014 after spending £11m, expected relegation and then bouncing straight back only spending £23m and then keeping them in the prem and even qualifying for Europe. The Dyche formula is building a team of grafters, defensively minded, a striker who hits the net and a team ethic. Organised leadership and only a few quid. Our model seems to be a no name manager and an attacking selfish minded team who want glory but sulk when things go wrong. No leader at the clubs first team, no trust in the no name managers. Discuss
Morning all,Let's hope we hear some good news soon,a top manager & a couple of wise experienced seasoned players coming in.Now wouldn't that be a nice change.
No sentence questioning if the club is stupid requires an answer I’m just expecting another poor season, success being marked by not being relegated and the occasional 30k plus crowd to make us feel we’re still a big club
They said if they don't go up this season they wouldn't invest more money and the high earners would have to be sold. Rich owners generally don't get Rich by using their own money.
Yes they do now but he got his money through being a clever businessman. Losing £87m last season and not getting promotion this season will see the losses more than double. Bruce will want even more money but FFFP rules will be chasing them before all that kicks off and Tony Chinaman or whatever his name is will be having to make big business decisions. Bruce has spent £147m on this years team alone. Bruce is a manager in the Dyche mold and has won promotions for Birmingham, Hull City etc without huge funds, but its easy when you get handed huge sums ....
Big sam sacked? Stupidity beyond belief. Everton in danger of relegation, send for Sam. He turns it around and finishes 8th in the league FFS, Everton believe they should play like Liverpool but have a bottom half budget not a top 6 budget. Everton should be fighting relegation every year with their budget and should beg Sam to forgive them. Hope the bluenoses get relegated next season Orta give Big Sam a ring if you want promotion
Last seasons relegated clubs all finished top 6 this season Best performing team versus squad valuation/money spent this season is Bristol who had the 13th highest budget. Worst performer was Hull who are 2nd highest value squad but ended in 18th place Leeds badly under performed with a top 10 spend but finished 13th. Sunderland in 6th place spend at £40.6m finished 24th and gone. Middelsboro had 3rd highest spend thanks to Monk (Pullis spent nothing) finished 5th. Big under performers like Hull were Norwich who spent £37m & Wendies £35m, It still seems that you need to have a top manager to get promotion whatever your budget. Hull will be firing next season but think Derby, Wendies and Norwich have blown up and maybe even Reading, but the relegated teams next season will all make the play offs, so add Middelsboro and Fulham/Villa that only leaves one spot left. Leeds would need to have an exceptional season to compete at the top end next season. That's my almost scientific prediction
