I'm intrigued by the Lanzini rumours. If there's anything in it, It's because Klopp has seen something g in him he likes.....that's good enough for me.
Liverpool are to sign midfielder Isaac Christie-Davies, 20, on a free transfer after the player was not awarded a new contract at Stamford Bridge. (ESPN)
another kevin Stewart? I don't know the lad much bit Chelsea under age has swept up everything. will be interesting to see if we can at minimum turn a tidy profit on him
He was released by Chelsea. I believe Solanke was offered a deal but decided to move for a chance for first team action, which he got to be fair). Am not sure how much of this is meeting quotas or real development. If he's decent, Chelsea must have a hell of a bunch of kids to let him go.
It seems to me that the quick search i did indicates a lad on a short term deal and not really going anywhere at chelsea so I don't think he was anyhwere near the level of solanke and he's not been in older england groups. now if he has the work ethic of stewart we can make a 10mil player out of him. Cheslea have their pick of london it seems and sweep the boards at under age and seniors never even seem to look at the kids at all to develop anything. Still... this might change next year as the europa gives them a chance to play lots of kids... maybe cheslea fans will tell us this was the plan all along. the good thing for us is cheslea now don't need to try i nthe league as they will piss through europa and win that for CL the following year
Would you not apportion those fixed costs over all the players being coached? He has to pay his portion. Of course having an extra player at u23 level means the costs that everyone else has to pay is less. You are right of course that the cost is the same overall.
Interesting. Our coaches must have seen something in him to make them think that they could develop him into a reasonable standard. I've no idea what a lad like him would earn tbh but assume £10k/month = £120k/year. Double that for his contribution to Melwood = £250k/year. Sell him for £1m in 2 years and you've turned a small profit whilst paying towards the coaching set up. It's not football imo. It's business.
Depends how they calculate it. If they have the capacity to take more, it will bring the cost/player down without any incremental costs. But tbh, I have no clue, it's all assumption on my part.
The Liverpool players who may have said their final goodbyes at Anfield https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-players-who-said-final-14663201
yeah, just going off how we run our business here. Fixed costs apportioned by volume. It doesn't REALLY work for football as you are not making a product for sale par se.
Flanno - The tough-tackling full-back joined Bolton on loan on deadline day in January. He made nine appearances for the Trotters and helped them retain their Championship status. Was he injured or is he really that ****?
