Holloway Gone! Steve McClaren In?

Exactly. But I do honestly blame TF. He's always seemed like a bull in a china shop / child in a sweet shop who occasionally pretends he's a grown up for a minute.

 

From what I can see, the guy that introduced the possibility of a consortium, is someone called QPRMarc on WATRB. Since he was also the source of Holloway being replaced by McClaren, I would guess he is genuinely ITK, unlike cernyberny who got all his information from talking to himself in the mirror.

QPRMarc's latest pronouncement:

"I'm pretty sure I said this around Christmas time about McLaren coming in and having a consortium behind him. Well I've heard the same again, who's part of the consortium I do not know, but they are willing to provide funds to strengthen the squad. I presume how this works is if we get promoted they get a certain percentage back on top of what they've invested. Don't know how this lies with FFP at all, but thought I'd pass on what I've been told. Les is/has been dealing with McLaren negotiations and has been for quite some time."

Cernyberny was forever demanding apologies from any doubters! I used to love calling him out on them.

 

Yes, he was entertaining and about as accurate in his predictions as Mystic Meg

 

I believe that Tony believes he has a much better system of people in place to spend money (if we are ever able to) more wisely than his previous attempts. If the ambition is to be the Premiership then ultimately money will have to be spent. Having said that, if we were in a position to spend and push for promotion or at least have those aspirations then surely the likes of Robinson and maybe Ned would have been offered more tempting contracts.

Could it be that McLaren is keeping his powder dry in case any of the half dozen or so EPL clubs supposedly looking for a manger might be in contact with his agent.

QPRMarc's "ITK" ratings are pretty high at the moment.

I will watch what develops.

 

They are all salivating over his every word because he guessed right about Hollow. Give it a week and he will be another ITK nothing.

 

To be fair he called this at the end of April including McClaren being the replacement.

 

McClaren coming in may or may not be good news. If he's right about the consortium, that might well be something to get excited about again.

 

But however wealthy new owners may be, we're still in a FFP straightjacket. I would have thought TF would have to sort this before a sale unless he's selling out to his current partners
