You could argue that to be fair but its easy with hindsight. I personally think if he had stayed with us he would have been fine - probably the biggest mistake of his career. Yes, he has the trophies now but he is now ridiculed for his poor performances with his reputation in tatters and for years hated by us (although now I sort have forgiven him and remember the good times). He was a big fish in a small pond and linked up perfectly with Gerrard and when he went to Chelsea he was no longer a key man and with a different set up and fan base. Never settled. I will be honest in that I was absolutely devastated when he left and was really pleased that he was largely **** for them - pure relief! No shirt burning or any of that nonsense but I was very gutted and bitter! We absolutely hated Chelsea and them us in that period and played each other in big games regularly. They almost got Gerrard and then did get Torres after saying he wouldn't leave and in the end he mugged us off so badly that he left in a helicopter! Now nothing surprises me and I don't get too attached with favourite players. Its frustrating but they come and go. If he went to Spurs it would be a shame and it would be brutal but it also wouldn't really surprise me. Money and opportunity talks.

this is what i wrote about being happy with poch: things aren't always black and white. You can laugh at managers and think they are good or laugh at them and think they are ****e. Take Mourinho who polarises fans (well more in the past he seems to have gone a bit haywire recently). Some will be happy with him because he pretty much guarantees trophies but he won't play attractive football. I believe the general laughing at poch is his lack of plan B and basically the fact he's won no trophies. That still holds true. Do i think he can win trophies with a better team (another laugh because spud fans think they have the best 11), probably but thats a risk because so far he hasn't. i'd be interested to know what you think the other chavs have been saying about poch in particular? As far as i know we just laugh when 1. spurs lose 2. he's gained a lot of weight 3. no trophies 4. no plan b. so basically, what i've said all along, he's not the best, he'll do great on limited resources, he might be brilliant with more resources but no one really knows. Would i take him at chelsea, yes. Do i think we'd have hired the best manager in the world nope would i laugh at the spurs melt down (as he's been your best manager in years) yes
