Said on the Newcastle board that can understand why TV would want to keep top 6 games off last day - for simple reason that if league is already decided you reduce the game to a meaningless one and lose TV viewers. Consequently schedule them for earlier in the season.

Don't think the timing of who you play when makes much difference to the positions at the end of the season. Would suspect that the managers of the weaker teams though look at the fixture schedule and panic if they see they play a lot of the stronger teams early on - chances are they will be out of a job before they can turn things around.

On a scheduling note I remember when the derbies used to always be on Boxing Day - think they should bring that back. Also shouldn't be allowed to move Boxing Day fixtures. Nothing better than a game of footy on the day after Christmas (although Mrs thinks the sale at Selfridge's beats it hands-down).

Got to agree with Mick. Yeah everyone plays everyone etc. However the dynamics of the fixtures and the psychology comes into affect. It's ok for the top 6 to avoid each other but the bottom 3 might get the top 3 on the last day?

Yeah that's ****ed up and I wouldn't be happy either.

The smaller clubs won't complain and bite the hands that feed them, whichever way the fixtures are worked out all clubs of all sizes get mega millions in tv money.
The top clubs will always have the biggest say and the biggest Sky/BT audiences, and that's why they get preferential treatment.

I think that's why we played Chelsea away last game of the season the year we won the title ... brilliant scheduling by Sky ... current Champions forming a guard of honour for the new ones ...

They should try and do that every season ..... OK it means Spurs and Livepool are always going to get clubs like Southampton r West Ham on the last day ... but we can't all be winners, can we? <whistle>

They need to get relegated. We don't get any Blackburn fans on here talking about 1995.

They will probably make sure any high profile Spurs games are in the second half of the season. No visit of Arsenal/Chelsea/West Ham early doors.

I don't think they'd be allowed to show it for the same reason they're not allowed to do 3 o'clock games on a saturday

I don't have sky so couldn;t say for sure, but I don't think they're allowed to clash with other games on a 'full' program

Edit: just checked, yeah, they did, the 2 games to decide 4th

i know they aren't allowed to show 3pm games normally but on the final day i heard people mentioning on here (i don't have sky either) that sky were televising games. Probably the only time they can do it is on the final day.

If thats the case that wouldn't be a reason not to have a title decider on the final day
